    You are correct.
  4. rn taking orders from an lpn?

  5. rn taking orders from an lpn?

When I've worked LTC, in a situation where a patient is a problem, we couldn't get "rid" of them via an ER evaluation/treat trip...it wasn't an admission to the hospital, so they're still the LTC's...
  6. One source says 5ml/single injection (not happening with this RN), the other says 3ml/single injection - in a large muscle. Personally, I wouldn't give more than 3cc/injection to anybody who wasn't...

I hope you feel better....I'm sure all of this doesn't help- but one way to look at it is that you're still able to take the test...even though it's not going to be when you planned to, you're not out...
  8. Nurses' personal medical records

So, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, phobias, etc should keep someone out of nursing? Those are psychiatric issues. Some can even become quite severe. But they don't make someone psychotic. Big...

  13. How do you deal with suspected addicts?

  14. I got the journals (especially the "basics"- AJN, Nursing, RN...then specialty ones prn) I still have them as references- either to look up "used to" stuff, or current.
  15. What kind of union allows this? I've never worked for a union- and wouldn't (just a facility that I could give my 2 weeks notice and hit the road), but thought they were supposed to protect you...
  16. How do you deal with suspected addicts?

The behavioral stuff (rolling around the bed, threats, etc) can be what we have taught chronic pain patients to do. It's a widely held belief that pain patients are addicts....only about 1% of people...
  17. Go apply for the 2nd job. If you hear something before anything is final with that one (from the first one), then decide if you want to risk losing that AND the first one. Chances are, like you...

  20. narcotic from e-kit..

Yeah. The logic this "not using 2 15mg tablets" is like saying it's wrong to get 2 325mg APAP, to get a full 650mg dose. If that were an issue, nobody would get the full dose, as APAP hasn't come in...
  21. Yep- definitely agree... But sure when you have state surveyors in the building, you know what is expected in your state :) In TX, the last rules I knew were to separate the meds, and follow each...
