  1. Positive TB test?

Can you work while you are on the INH or do they require you to take time off?
  2. Positive TB test?

Thanks everyone! I thought it was odd everyone was making a huge deal about 7 mm since I knew that isn't even positive for myself...I'm not immunocompromised or anything...and the CRNP who gave me my test yesterday seemed overly concerned about that...
  3. Positive TB test?

A carrier would be someone who has been exposed and has a latent infection. That is what a Chest Xray rules out. If you are a "carrier", it would show up in the Xray and you would be required to take a long course of antibiotics.
  4. I'm starting my first GN job in August and my commute is around an hour with traffic. I have a beater car now that clunks, squeals, clicks, and randomly dies but gets upwards of 33 mpg. I'm looking to buy a new car once I get some cash in my pocket. ...
  5. What kind of car do you drive for those 1+ hour commutes?

Thank you all for wonderful responses! I have been leaning towards a Civic, and i think there have been more Civic posts than anything. However, I am looking into the Yaris now that it was mentioned. Safety is a must though...winters are bad here but...
  6. What kind of car do you drive for those 1+ hour commutes?

I'm thinking a Civic...reliable...great gas mileage. When I get the money a Prius would be ultimate.

I am entering my last month as a student nurse and as we are getting to take care of more patients (4-5) I am having more issues with time management. (Go figure...lol). My question is this.... How realistic is it that every med you give to every pat...
  8. Just a Question about the BON background checks...

I don't know if this will help or not...but I have something on my record that was 'taken off my record' by the court. It has never shown up on basic background checks; however, when I had to do FBI fingerprinting to do clinical at a certain hospital...
  9. 8 hour days or 12 hours days?

I graduate in June and have a job lined up at a hospital about 45 mins to an hour away. I agreed to working 3 12 hour shifts since the commute was so long. I have talked to some who say 12's are easier for new grads since there is more time to chart...
  10. 8 hour days or 12 hours days?

Thanks guys! I have been worried b/c I've heard nurses complaining about 12's, but now I am happy to hear that they aren't so bad. I was also worried about having to stay late for 12's to catch up on charting but maybe that won't happen as often as I...
