    The Trump Thread

There are a ton of us moderates who would love to vote Republican again, but not if it is Trump.

    Changing Careers At 42

And, how much debt are you willing to incur for something that may or may not work out?

    Rocky Start/Orientation and Nurse Confidence

I would pass on that position. Just not a good fit at this time. However, I think if you applied to lots of hospital floor nurse jobs you might find a manager willing to give you the kind of training that would enable you to build your skills and con...

    Potential New Job Option

Good to hear the update. What did you move to job wise? Different employer completely?
  7. That says it all. A good manager is one of the most important things at any job.
  8. Nope. Time to find another career path.

    Monday March 20 2023

Hi Stars, She was totally incontinent. They did all the changing and med administration and laundry etc. Which is why it cost 6k eventually. We just had to supply everything. They also got her up and dressed and took her to meals and all that st...

No Stars - ALF with memory care runs around 6k per month, but you also supply all the adult diapers etc. This was in Texas (had my MIL in one the last 3 years), but it is a fairly universal cost unless you go fancy.

Advice about walking outside while recovering from Covid

The world is so different here (Texas). I work indoors in a large clinic at a university. Almost nobody has been wearing masks for a very long time although a few do. We are exposed to everyone and whatever germs they have all the time and I haven't ...

    "Cliques" in the Workplace

Oh my Goodness! I thought you were doing much better these days, but you have reverted to sounding like a toddler throwing a tantrum SB. I remember when you displaced an utter lack of professional behavior, empathy, maturity previously with Covi...

Lowest Dose of Morphine To Cause Death

No. Went through this recently with my MIL. Relieving discomfort and easing breathing are what is does at that dose even for narcotic naive patients. Age and disease are the cause of death at that dosage.

    "Cliques" in the Workplace

I don't know. Your attitude (walking out of meetings, refusing to do stuff because they don't let you do the other stuff) wouldn't fly for 10 seconds where I work. I normally have sympathy for your struggles, but honestly, you sound like a lot to dea...

Being Snarky to Get Needed Help

Before deploying snark I would probably get face to face 1st with whomever I thought could help or the person who could delegate the appropriate person who could help. I save snark as a last resort.

New medication technician concerned about facility

I would just relay the bare bones of what you have observed without naming names and let the nurse come to their conclusions. At least as a 1st step.

New medication technician concerned about facility

Wow. That is crazy. I know the ALF where I had my MIL had a training program for care assistants to become med techs, but it included all the things missing from the one where you are working. The nurse in charge should be handling these issues and t...

    Surgical clinic—-is this really doable?

That is an insane workload and expectation. DO the patients not complain to management so that they will have to add staff?

    No longer conducting drug tests

I think this is a good thing. Just do it "for cause". Otherwise it seems like over reach and waste of resources.
