Thanx. I will ask. I'm looking for a position in the OR so ratio isn't that important. I hope they'll be true about employee satisfaction and attrition.

    New hospitals in Mesa

Has anyone heard anything(good/bad) about the Banner Heart Hospital CVOR? Is it a progressive program? How is the staff? Would you take your family there for heart or vascular surgery?

What specific questions would be at the top of your list?

Thank you all for your input! I will ask many questions. We have a new hospital here in AZ that looks beautiful but is the scurge of the area as far as patient care. I'm hoping that Sky Ridge is nothing like it. Most new places need about 5-6 years before they start to hit their stride. I hope that I can make a differnce there.

Hi, team! I'm a CVOR scrub nurse with 26 yrs of OR experience and looking to relocate to Colorado and am liking what I see on the Sky Ridge web site. I know that a web site is all the pretty stuff. Does anyone have any inside information about Sky Ridge? Do they do a lot of hearts or vascular surgeries? How is the administration in the OR? Do they pay well? Is HealthOne a good system to work for? Any info would be helpful. I'm also looking to move to Monument, which is very near Colorado Springs. Any info about this place would be much appreciated also. Thank you, all!!

Reentering military as nurse corps officer after re-4

Talked to an HM1 via phone about my issue and she said there is no way. She did not seem very familiar with nursing in general. Does anyone think that the Disabled Vets organization could get me in touch with someone familiar with writing enlistment upgrades? If I could get my enlistment upgraded to and Honorable does that automatically change my RE-4 to an RE-1? Anyone have any hints as to how I could get this done? Thanx for you attention.

Reentering military as nurse corps officer after re-4

Thank you all for your responses! You give me hope. I'll let you know what I find out. If it works out I would be more than glad to help out anyone else in this situation. BTW I was in for 10 years not 10 hours; that auto correct function adds things.
  12. I am an OR scrub/nurse with 24+ years in the OR. I was in the navy for 10 hrs with one honorable discharge before I got busted on a urinalysis. My career prior was laden with high evals, letters of commendation from admiral of the fleet and commanding officers. I got a little wild in my late 20s and have been paying for it ever since. I am 46 now with wife kids and am respected in my medical community and have letters from surgeons & nurses to prove it. Now, my question is "what do you think my chances are to get a commission as a nurse Corp officer? Any ideas on what I could do to increase my chances? Thank you all for taking time to read this.
