  1. one week from today I start class!! uber excited and nervous, have to go up to the school this wednesday to get a photo id made so ready to begin
  2. Thank you so much for this. I've never been to an actual interview in my life so I didn't even know where to start.
  3. 1: what date you start/ school name August 20/Holmes CC 2: how long is your program 12 months 3: why are you becoming an lpn.. That's hard to put into words...because I want to...because nursing interests me...because I want to be a nurse...because I want to help people but have an interesting job at the same time, lot's of different reasons 4: how much is your program Tuition is about $5000 plus another $3000ish for supplies (for the whole 12 months) Ads by Google
  4. Yup, pretty much how I'm feeling at this point
  5. CONGRATS! :yelclap: :w00t:
  6. Hello everyone In just a few weeks my ADN class will be taking the ATI test We have a book but it is very small and very comprehensive I'm feeling pretty anxious seeing as we have to have a 90% to pass (and if we pass we don't have to take our final, isn't that great!) My question is: how did you prepare for the ATI test? did you study at all? how many times did it take you to pass? (we only have one try ) is it extremely difficult? Thanks in advance! :)
  7. Still a nursing student so no helpful tips but: Congrats!
  8. I just started nursing school so: Crazy train has left the station!
  9. i have class from 8-3:30 and my ice pack is still a bit frozen by then highly recommend them
  10. Just because you sat there once doesn't mean that seat belongs to you. You guys are awesome, I'm honored to be a part of this class.
  11. Class start tomorrow Not really freaking out like I thought I would (I'm the type to overreact) I think this is the calm before the storm though, I hope I get some sleep I'm like a child when something exciting is about to happen, unable to sleep and bouncing off the walls Good luck everyone!
  12. Party rock by ***** Not really a nurse-y type of song but I just found out last night I really am going into the nursing program this fall starting the 15th that and this song just make me want to dance around! *edit* whoops, the band name got censored! Lol but the song plays on the radio so they're pretty well known ^__^
  13. 216. When you wanna post but the thread is more than two years long and you get really excited that you can reply without looking like a goof 217. When you use your nookcolor to go online and read allnurses.com than actually reading books...
  14. Personally, no, it wouldn't bother me at all. Some people are extroverts and some people just enjoy getting feedback, doesn't make them bad people or make me feel weird. I would never post my grades on Facebook because I'm introverted to the point of being a hermit but whatever floats your boat I suppose (this is of course if they're just posting about being happy with their grade and not putting down the rest of the class, whole different ballpark )
  15. When is orientation? The secretary at Grenada told me to just show up on the first day but I wonder if she meant for ridgeland or Grenada campus...
  16. the ADN program, i just found out this morning actually
  17. i didnt read all of these so im not sure if the OP knows yet but there were problems with the acceptance letters a lot of people didnt get there's for some reason, me included i would make sure to call, i did and the lady on the phone told me a lot of people didnt accept which was strange so she was trying hard to let people know they were accepted good luck!
  18. Cloudi replied to ebony327's topic in Ob/Gyn
hey, im pre-nursing also if you like babies you might also want to look into NICU :) Again, not a nurse yet but i want to be an Ob-Gyn nurse because pregnancy fascinates me the things the female human body can do blows my mind just my 2cents good luck!
  19. never heard of the show what time/channel does it come on? i'd love to watch it (tried to google it but didnt seem to be coming up with the right stuff)
  20. ha i saw that grandma, she was crazy:yeah: i think its an interesting show but i take it with a grain of salt, as most tv shows in general should be taken:cool:
  21. im still pre-nursing (hoping to get accepted fall '11!) but here goes nothing i never, ever gave nursing a consideration. Yet when i look back i seem pretty destined for it. When i was seven, my mom was in her Biology graduate program and had to dissect a frog, bring it home and label it, and then bring it back. In front of me and my four year old brother she dissected the frog and showed us all the organs and described them. I remember thinking how cool that was. (We also watched a lot of discovery health and i was fascinated with the shows about women giving birth) When i was in the seventh grade, i dissected all the fetal pigs in my class (yes, ALL 26 or so of them, not sure what my teacher was up to or why he didnt stop me) because they grossed everyone else out. I proceeded to explain the different parts to my classmates as best i could. I took human anatomy in high school as an elective and thought how cool the human body was. However, i didnt believe myself smart enough to become a doctor so i just kind of went to college not knowing what i wanted to do. Figuring i'd end up a teacher or writer or something along those lines. I was at a friends house and her mother was yelling at us. My friend's mother was, of course, a nurse. She was grumbling about how we had no direction and needed to get our heads on straight and why didnt we become nurses like her? Why not indeed! She was (is) a traveling nurse and raved about how we could go where we wanted and specialize in almost anything. We shrugged and changed our majors the next day Stupid, yeah probably, i had done some research and it seemed good enough, steady income and all that jazz it wasnt really until i took human anatomy and my science based classes that i realized that this was for me (the science teacher mostly teach as if all of us are going into nursing because most of us are) i know the pre-reqs are anything like nursing school or real life but that doesnt change how i feel i came by the profession kind of half-heartedly but now that i'm here i cant imagine trying to become anything else ~readerwriter wow, didnt realize i'd be that long, sorry
  22. dont worry i feel the same way this site is a learning tool and the things people on here have taught me are amazing and i dont even start nursing school until next semester (if i get in!) not every thing you learn though you will enjoy knowing like the previous poster said though, times are tough for everyone if you want this and really want it, you'll make it through and eventually get a job, it just probably won't be asap of course you might surprise yourself and land a job three days after graduation, such is life good luck and hang in there
  23. im not a nurse yet but.... i had a dream that i was in my human anatomy lab but none of my classmates showed up for their lab, so my instructor turns to me and said, 'well i guess that means that you have to everyone's lab, it needs to be done before class ends so you better get started' and when i tried to point out that that wasnt fair she got angry and asked me what exactly i thought it meant to be a nurse i woke up in the middle of trying to complete all the labs *just realized that i am very late to this topic lol*
  24. yall are lucky its required for BSN here in Mississippi but not for ADN im not good at it and i hate it but i eventually want my master's sooo.... plus i've passed my human anatomy, biology, and am doing well in my nutrition without it not a good class for me, chemistry....
