  1. I was wondering what a competitive salary might be for stroke coordinators? I am a candidate for this position at my hospital but didn't know if the salary was competitive. They are placing it in the same pay band (44K - 77K) as a staff nurse and the...
  2. ICU RN's responsible for CRRT or CVVH

We now have a dialysis nurse in house 24/7. They set up the CVVHD and we are responsible for maintaining and simple troubleshooting. Our patients don't have hours during the night without treatment like they used to when set ups clotted.

  8. Should I leave the ICU?

I couldn't agree more; some of the loudest, most critical nurses are the ones that feel the most inadequate. Sometimes they'll spout off at you to take focus off them. I'll never understand why nurses treat their own so poorly. Doesn't it make more s...
  9. Considering ICU-Not sure of jump

I agree wholeheartedly with Dinith 88 - you MUST know your stuff and that includes so much - meds, assessment skills, lots of equipment, etc. But I think the most important thing you'll learn over time is to anticipate whats happening with your patie...
