Any Stroke Program Coordinators out there?

I was wondering what a competitive salary might be for stroke coordinators? I am a candidate for this position at my hospital but didn't know if the salary was competitive. They are placing it in the same pay band (44K - 77K) as a staff nurse and the responsibility is immense. It's basically starting a program for stroke care with the ultimate goal of JCAHO accredidation. Human resources sets our salaries based on years of experience and I'm not sure how much say the hiring director has if it seems low. I have 19 years experience so that alone should (better!) put me somewhere above the middle. Any input would be appreciated.
