  1. Advise me about becoming a nurse in CA

Well, first you have to apply at the Board of Registered Nursing California. After the application is reviewed you will get a letter saying which other courses you have to take or if you have been granted to take the NCLEX right away. Good luck!!
  2. USF ADN to MSN Clinical Nurse Leader online 2013

  3. Hi everyone,I have only found old information from 2010 and 2011 in this forum, that's why I am starting a new one. Here my story:After graduating in May 2012 from an ADN Nursing Program I was lucky enough to start working one week after passing my B...
  4. Critique my cover letter! (seriously, rip this baby apart)

Never write Dear Sir/Madam! Find out their name - that will show that you are really interested and that you took some time to find out their name (call H&R). Goooooood luck!
  5. Advise for upcoming clinical

what clinical are you having? Maternity, Peds, MedSurg, Psych? That would help to know, since the advice depends on that :-)

  7. Need scrub and shoe recommendations please!

I was about to recommend the Grey's Anatomy scrubs. These are super comfy and they usually fit nicely on the top. Did the top not fit you? You can also go to http://www.lifeuniform.com/LifeUniform/Women_Scrubs.jsp?bmUID=1282880915201 I don't know whe...

  10. Maternity/NB/L&D/PP/2nd Semester - HELP!!!

We don't get reviews at all. I am at a very good nursing school at a community college ASN program. Like I said, no reviews, but the exam questions are in NCLEX style. Sure, the instructor writes her own questions, but if you study questions you can...
  11. Maternity/NB/L&D/PP/2nd Semester - HELP!!!

Well the Success books are questions - so generally I read the book, go over the matching study guide book and then do the Success questions. These books are great, because they have different chapters, meaning you can only answer questions for postp...

  13. LPN-RN bridge program that only requires 3 Nur Classes?

I am in a bridge program in San Francisco, CA. They do require only three courses (OB, MedSurg and Psych), BUT like most schools you have to fulfill prerequisites and one course is usually 12 units. So no piece of cake.
  14. Can I work as LPN once I have RN license?

I don't think you can do that. You have to practice under your highest license, which then would be RN. Maybe someone else knows more about this?
  15. LPN to RN

Check out the LVN-RN corner for more info!
  16. SNRIs, Depression, and Pregnancy

  17. Help Preparation for NCLEX PN EXAM

With the Kaplan Strategy book you should be off to a good start. I read it three times (one more time the day before the test) - with these strategies you WILL be able to pass the test. I did about 1000 questions before the NCLEX with the Saunders ...

  20. Ahh, that is so smart! I just started the LVN-RN program and was wondering about this. Thank you!
  21. Where do I get LVN malpractice insurance?

I am a LVN (working part time) and LVN-RN student in California. I pay $99.50/year for 1,000,000/6,000,000 with NSO. This coverage is for my part time work AND for the LVN-RN. Pretty good deal.
  22. Does that mean that if one has 2 years of LVN/LPN experience, maybe even during nursing school - after nursing school one is not counted as new grad ??? (since that seems to be the problem; to get a position without being a new grad, since there are ...
  23. Nursing Grad Questions

Your last question: You would NOT flush with saline, because then you would also inject the rest of the blood still in the line. Since you know it is a allergic reaction, you call the MD. That's what I learned. Good luck to you in your NCLEX, it so...
  24. LPN to RN bridge programs in the Bay Area

Working as an LPN, in Florida, I hear a rumor that California has looked into or is looking into converting LPN to RN in the event that they have 15 years experience as an LPN, allowing them to sit for the NCLEX-RN TRUTH? Never heard of this.
  25. LPN to RN bridge programs in the Bay Area

Just want to throw in that the Contra Costa Community College (based in East Bay Area, San Pablo, CA) also offers the LVN-RN Program (regular or 30 Unit option). Pre-req's have to be fulfilled before applying to the program. And EVERY SCHOOL HAS DIF...
