No orders yet, I've been correcting and resigning paperwork for the past week or so though so I'm not expecting them anytime soon. I did get a call from my sponsor at Travis AFB today though so that was pretty cool. Makes me even more excited for October to come ! Turned in my resignation at work as well today since I'm giving them a month notice with my units budget crisis and all, it feels like it's all coming together now!

Found the facebook group, tried joining just waiting to be accepted ! I think it's great to get to talk with others who will be at COT with me before heading down there, kinda takes a little bit of the nerves out since I know others are experiencing the same things as me .

Just commissioned today ! Whew what a relief ! No turning back now :) I absolutely agree dlinlee that just having my truck there will make me feel better since Im driving there from Michigan. I know it seems funny to me as well, but its a little comfort I guess, even if I can't drive it. I'm heading out to Travis as well after COT as that's my duty station, glad to see others will be joining me on the long haul to California. Never been out that way but I hear its beautiful there. I'm getting excited now. Question that arised today with my recruiter, he told me that he's been told that we should not sow anything on our uniforms before going to COT since there's a specific time at COT that we're allowed to get them sewn on. I was under the impression from this site that it's best to have everything on before you go? Any advice on this?

Got the call ! I'm getting commissioned tomorrow! I guess this is finally making it seem like its really happening. Can't wait. I started my packet last october and am going to COT in october of this year. I was originally told I would be going to COT in March, then June, then August, but was selected for October, and I'd say from reading others experiences on here that it generally takes around a year from start until your COT date. The physical is a long day, they'll check you blood pressure, vision, hearing, blood work, then a physical exam with some exercises to show your knees and other joints aren't bad with lots of waiting around mixed in, oh and a breathalizer to start the day off right.

I'm going to drive to COT as well, planning on getting down there either on saturday or sunday, haven't quite decided yet. Figured it would be helpful though to get down there a little early to check out the area also.

My recruiter said my name is on the congressional scroll just needs to be signed off on and then we can move forward. When I first started this process I only told a few people but by word spread among my friends, family and coworkers faster than I could ever have imagined, for the most part everyone is very supportive of my decision. Is everyone planning on driving or flying to COT? Also I was told by another recruiter who came to do a face to face meeting with me while my recruiter was out of town said that there's time to come home between COT and reporting to Travis, which is different than the impression I had, so I was just wondering if anyone else had heard this as well, or if you're all planning on going directly from COT to your duty station ?

I have no idea when I'll be commissioned either. I was told to hope by the end of august it will be done so I'm just "patiently" waiting until then. My recruiter is supposed to be taking me in the next couple weeks to get all my uniforms up at Selfridge ANG and I hope to buy whatever I can just to make it easier for when I get to COT.

Yes I'm from about 20 minutes away from Detroit. Wayne State is actually where I got my BSN from, loved it there ! Joined the facebook group as well

Hey! I'll be joining you all there in October. I'm from the Detroit area, been an RN for a little over a year now working on a cardiac step down unit and very excited to start the next chapter in my life. Also happy to "meet" others who will be down at Maxwell at the same time. After COT I'm heading to Travis. Anyway glad to see an 11-01 group up and running, take care!
