I am a new grad to the ED and have come across some abbreviations when reading ED Triage notes and ED Assessments specifically. I'd like people to add more to the list, to hopefully create a more comprehensive list of abbreviations, as I only know a...

Our facility does have an approved list (14 pages long!) of abbreviations. However, some people use abbreviations outside of the approved list. I started this post to see some of these "non-standard" abbreviations, not so I could use them, but so t...

I'll give you a tip. SELL YOURSELF! Why should Scripps pick you over the 50-100 other equally qualified applicants? What makes you any different? What can you contribute to the organization? I'm sure the interviewers already have an idea of whic...
I'm going to pose a hypothetical situation - Lets say a person was offered a position at a major hospital system in the emergency dept, where they want to work. The benefits are pretty good, the pay is the lowest out of all the local hospital system...
My answers were about 2-3 sentences each - I spent about 15-20 minutes on the entire application. I didn't need to do Talentmine since I had applied for a different job months before.

my application status just switched from the "routed" to "intvw" status. I'm wondering how often UCD does residency, because I don't think I'll have my license by the start date. Can I ask to be considered for the next cohort?
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Sometimes I practically fall asleep during postconference. Then I get home and have to study for an exam and a quiz or write a 15 page care plan. It's maddening!

Be sure you calculate your last 60 based on whether or not you were on a semester or quarter system. And your last 60 counts all of the classes that fall in the semester in which your last 60th unit falls. So if your last 60 units was Fall 2010 sem...

you can get loans. There are a lot of people who are doing that. If you're at San Marcos, you will use the same labs as the BSN. If you're at Temec, you use the Temec lab which is not as great as San Marcos, but it's good enough to do what you nee...
I think it would be best if you waited to have kids. You're only 22, don't use your baby maker just yet. You need a job first. The fact that you have no past experience, coupled with 9+ months off (if you get pregnant), is not going to look good to a...
I'm in one of the temecula cohorts and I'll give my 2 cents. I also live in the SD area. You can definitely work 1-2 days a week during 1st semester - classes are a joke. 2nd semester fundamental class/assessment/pharm class are much different tha...

FYI they posted stats for cohort 13 Fall 2012 Temecula - average points 31; precore 3.53; last 60 3.57; TEAS 83.9. I am in one of the current cohorts at Temecula, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I think you're getting way too gung-ho here. What the pharmacist did was pretty common, though it may not be right. What we're taught in the books are ideal/theoretical situations. Nothing in the real world is ever that pretty. How many times hav...
I didn't realize you were able to apply to take the NCLEX through more than one state? Or if you get denied in one state, then you can apply in another state? Didn't the CA denial make it hard for NV to approve? That's what user dinguino is saying...
When someone tries to use an online nursing forum as a platform to preach their religious beliefs (regardless of whether or not I'm religious as well) then all civility goes out the window. In all honesty, if everyone could be a doctor that makes ton...
