  1. Does anybody know of Psych jobs/psych hospitals in houston area

Yep, West Oaks. Sister worked there PRN a couple of years ago for ~33/hr
  2. what do you need to really get into UT Houston BSN program?

Hey, so sorry I didn't respond sooner...I haven't really been on here lately. Really, you have nothing to worry about. You have great GPAs, and I believe that you have a great chance of getting in. My GPAs when I got in were a 3.7 prereq and 4.0 scie...
  3. UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Ha, thanks, stash11! You have great stats! In my opinion, the HESI is pretty easy; it's definitely not something you should stress over. There are sections on reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, math, and critical thinking besides the a&p...
  4. UTHSC (Houston) Spring

It's hard to say. I'm not sure what they're looking for now, but I don't think that your overall GPA is a big factor in the admissions decision, especially since your GPA is a result of something that happened so long ago! Your science GPA/pre-req GP...
  5. UTHSC (Houston) Spring

The application deadline for UTMB Spring '12 has passed - you missed it by just a week if you were hoping to apply for the spring start. Fall '12 deadline is January 15, 2012, and applications will be accepted starting November 15. I'm surprised you...
  6. uth 2012 spring hopefuls

If I were you, I would call and ask because there's no harm in doing that, BUT it says specifically on their website, and on the application form, that everything (transcripts, HESI A2 scores, and the form itself) should be submitted by the Sept. 1st...
  7. UT Houston 2011 summer accelerated program

**That is, if y'all are looking for apartments on the rail line in order to avoid commuting. Of course, there are several apartments not located on the rail line that are nice, too.
  8. UT Houston 2011 summer accelerated program

Hello nicole11 & thedutchess12! I've been accepted for the traditional program that starts in August, and have also been looking at housing in the med center. I know this isn't really specific, but I've just been looking at apartments using rent....
  9. what do you need to really get into UT Houston BSN program?

The only experience I have comes from a health science tech program that I did in high school for 2 years, and from volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital for a year about 8 years ago when I was 15 - none of these things were included (or can be i...
  10. uth 2012 spring hopefuls

You only have to have 40 of 60 hrs completed by the time you apply; of the 40, 8 must be from the sciences (Micro, A&P, or Chem I; Nutrition, even though it is a science course, does not count). The HESI A2, your transcripts, and a $30 applicatio...

  13. SiberianPuppy, I think your last post clarifies your position more. I hate to say it, but the first few times you posted it seemed like you were trying to put down people who decide to attend community colleges; i.e. saying that an employer would pic...
  14. That's true. SiberianPuppy, did you apply to any ABSN programs? If you haven't, do so, because that will be your best shot at getting compared to similar candidates.
  15. Yeah, I agree with your point about expenses and such...many people attend community colleges because they are the easiest, most affordable, and most accessible places to take prerequisite courses. When it comes down to it, most of the prerequisite c...
  16. Yeah, I understand where you are coming from. Like I said, just keep trying at it- you have a great GPA, and some school out there will recognize it and accept you. Best of luck!
  17. I can understand why you're upset, but I think it's unfair and a little snooty to say the things you're saying about people who attend community colleges. If anything, you should be blaming the school for the one-sided way they're reviewing and accep...

blynn15, I didn't take it twice, but I read that they only look at the scores from the latest attempt. Also, I think I submitted my app in late nov/early dec, but my application wasn't complete until 2 or 3 days before the application deadline.
