I think what the OP is asking is if there is a different standard of care expected from BSN nurses rather than the ADN nurses. For instance, the standard of care for a nurse certified in his or her...
I have applied for a community health nurse position. I've been invited to interview twice. However, each time they attempt to schedule they give me very little time and / or flexibility in scheduling...

I say go for it. Don't listen to the other people... they are not you. I personally wish I could do real estate. But thats just me! LOL! More money if you are good at
Hope this isn't stupid but... why would anyone, much less a celebrity, want an elective c-section? I thought your body was more likely to go back to its pre-pregnancy shape if you had a vag
I would call a higher authority (police) to get this woman some help. I cannot believe that she is asking a coworker to do this for her! Get her some help,
Like it was said above, some women have that, and it has nothing to do with being unclean or not washing frequently enough. And, if you're going to have a baby soon... many women do have a slight odor...
Hello, I'm actually applying for a pediatric nurse practitioner / educator track. I'm excited, but very scared! I never remembered being anxious about nursing school in this manner... now, I am for...
Sometimes kids are just very hard sticks. We have had children that no one could start a line on... even the anesthesiology. When kids get dehydrated, sometimes their veins become very fragile... and...
i think why we are asking is because this seems sooo unbelievable... i mean, they drill that stuff into your head in nursing school, and if you've practiced for more than a few months you'll have came...
I work in a regional medical center in a closed peds unit that only does kids... we're not an adult / peds floor, etc. But no, it's not a childrens hospital. I guess I should clairify. What we tend...

Hello, I guess that they've had problems with people giving PRN's for what they are not intended for... for instance, giving Tylenol for pain when it was really only supposed to be for a fever...
Warm pack that EMLA. It works faster / better that way. I always warm pack if I expect I have to leave it on less than 1 hour. Never, ever let a parent hold. They are unreliable. Let them be the...
Just my opinion... even though it wasn't asked... If it was as we suspect... 130 units... and she was looking for a larger syringe... I don't think that she should be reported to the BON. I think...
PrickleyPear - I have seen the same notifications on writing out units instead of "U". It can look like a 0 if written in a hurry!! I think you could give like 13 units. For instance, if the patient...
Ok, lets say that for some odd reason, the patient really was supposed to get 130 units. That's pretty rare. Maybe this nurse hadn't give that large a dose of insulin before, so she hadn't needed to...
You'd have to split the dose if it was 130u. I thought that they made the insulin syringes all the same size, with the same markings... they are standardized to decrease mistakes in insulin dosing....
Like I said before, I don't give a ton of insulin... I don't even give it on a weekly basis... does anyone have a sliding scale around? Just wondering how far off 130u really is... for a really large...
Well... when I am giving meds, I do not always check the MAR and the doctors orders before giving the meds. I do sometimes though. But, that is why there is a "MAR verification" area on our MARs......
