I'm sure this gets asked frequently, but I can't seem to find an answer specific to MN new grads. I'm interested in working in the Allina system in MN. I'm currently in the UMN MN (master of nursing) program. I'd love to get a job at Mercy Hospital i...

The MN program. . .wow. It's a hard question to answer honestly. Technically I'd do it all again, so far. There are a lot of things that really bug me about it. Maybe it's because my undergrad was at a private school (Bethel) or that I've had some re...

Thanks much for the replies. I thought I'd get an email notice about responses and haven't checked for a while. That's really encouraging. Thanks for the info.

Hang in there. I mean, look on this forum alone there's two people uncertain about accepting. That means there's bound to be many others. Wouldn't be surprised at all if you made it through the wait-list. Besides, many people who get wait-listed migh...

"I'm feeling lazy about moving to a place where I know almost no one. I've done it before, I can do it again, but it's hard work. Although, you all seem cool, so that's encouraging" Thing is, you're going to busy in this program. You might not h...

I am IN. Crazy email filter somehow caught the one message that I was waiting for. All of her other correspondence has come no problem. But there it was in my junk.

I'll wait a while longer. Did your email appear to be a group email or individual? Also, they may be sending smaller group emails to the groups from the interviewers. Each interviewer probably has their own two lists that have to be notified. So you ...

I had mine yesterday morning. I think it went really well too. The only thing is that because it's so conversational it's hard to tell if you've really answered their questions. I mean she asks something, I say something, she asks something else and ...

Yes, about 50%. Even though applications were up by about 12% this year (which means about 281 applicants) I would guess they would stick closer to absolute numbers because of the limitations of staff for doing the interviews.

Taking Patho at the U (today's exam) and stats for medical professionals at BSU. Besides that I'm just editing pictures, making photo-books, following up with brides, and hangin with my kids.

And me too! I'm sitting on the couch flipping through note-cards for today's exam and every time my computer dings I MUST walk across the room to check.

Yes, it does seem tacky to email a rejection letter. That's another reason it would be better to get accepted. We could avoid being entangled in the tacky-factor. )

They specifically said they'd tell us by email this week. Maybe that email didn't get to you? You might want to make sure you're able to get emails from Jamie Gearhart . That's who seems to be the one that updates us. She's the program coordinator I ...

That's also one of the reasons this program would be so much more ideal than another one. I can get through and get to work. If it's a different program it adds another year straight away.

No this is the only one I took at the U. Honestly, I'm paying for all the pre-reqs out of my pocket. I have four kids, and I have a photography business. I couldn't afford to take all the pre-reqs at the U. It costs twice as much. I figure, once I'm ...

That deadline isn't until the spring. If I don't get into UMN then I'll apply to Metro State. . .and a list of others. The only other program I considered before was one at St Cloud State which was also a 16 month program for a BSN. But they required...
