  1. ECPI-Raleigh LPN June 2011

OK, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but please get your facts straight. ECPI-Raleigh has one of the best first time NCLEX pass rates of any school in the area. I know this because A: it's easy to check and B: I graduated from ECPI and bre...
  2. I just passed my NCLEX on 3/31 For me, it was a critical thinking exam. Knowing lab values, PRIORITY (can't stress that enough) and disease processes helped a lot. There aren't any obvious answers, you have to think. If you have a study book Lik...
  3. March 2011 Test Takers Support Group

I passed! Thank you for your prayer! God is Good!
  4. March 2011 Test Takers Support Group

Hello Everyone! I'm taking the NCLEX-PN on the 31st. To those who are so inclined, please say a prayer for me this Thursday at 10am. Best wishes and prayers will go up for my fellow LPN hopefuls :heartbeat Thanks! Michele
  5. Therapeutic Diet in the DeWit textbook

LOL! I remember that book started to fall apart in NUR114! We had to use duct tape to hold them together. Not just one or two but the entire class! I was glad to be finished with it. I still have it (duct tape and all) for reference :)
  6. Therapeutic Diet in the DeWit textbook

I remember it being in the back of the book.
  7. 4th day of school, and the instructor hates me...

Yet another excellent reason to read the text for yourself and NOT rely on lectures :)
  8. Any students currently/previously attended ECPI??

Hello. I attend ECPI at the Raleigh campus and graduate next month. I'm curious about your Freshman O because we didn't have open book tests or quizes for that class. Be careful about thinking any class is going to be easy. I'm an "A" student but...
  9. Tempers, bullies, and self created chaos!!

I feel for ya Squirly! I have been suffering through the same types of things in my program. I graduate in February and it can't come soon enough! I'm tired of the drama, the complaining when they have to actually do some work, and having someone com...
  10. I have LOST the will to study....

I know just how you feel! Every couple of terms I have the same problem. I get so tired of studying all the time for all the tests, that I have to really push myself to study. I graduate in February and it can't come soon enough! We have tests on M...
  11. A worn out topic

This is a good question. I'll be graduating soon and would love to hear more replies on this subject. I'll be watching this post
  12. Does anyone else find this offensive?

I went to MA school before going to LPN school. Telling you about my programs (MA and LPN) is pointless because each MA and LPN program and what they include (phlebotomy, labs, etc) are different. So, comparing them is also pointless. If you work in ...
  13. ECPI Raleigh April 2010 LPN??

Thx! I graduate in February and can't wait! How have you found the job market in our area? Do you still commute to Raleigh for work? Just wondering. Michele:)
  14. Prerequisities classes for LPN classes

I'm also in agreement with the above posters. I'm about half-way through my program and they didn't require prereqs, but I had to pass the TEAS test with a certain score (I can't remember) and then I had a "meet and greet" with the Asst. DON, and th...
  15. Teas test next week....anyone?? June 15th

No, But I have taken it. You're right, stick with your gut. Algebra was on there and reading comp. Simple chemistry and english grammar. It's multiple choice so read the questions carefully and throw out the obviously wrong answers first and then ...
  16. Wondering if I'm doing the right thing..LPN School

Nursing Math was our first class. Brushing up on metric conversions, basic multiplication, division, and basic algebra would be a good start. The major book stores usually have these handy study guides for nursing and pharmacology. They're only a ...
  17. Wondering if I'm doing the right thing..LPN School

I say go for it...but...having said that, be prepared. I attend MCI in the Raleigh campus and graduate in February. It IS a fast paced program. We, at one point, were having a test every other day! It's a lot of work, reading, and studying. It l...
  18. Congrats on your upcoming graduation! I'm sure you'll be a very caring nurse. It would be very interesting if we could fast forward to 6 months into your first nursing job and see what your opinion is then. Good Luck! :)
  19. And I do know for a fact that their med passes were scheduled around the fact that they needed to be in the dining room when meals came. Question...How do you know? HIPPA states that you're only privilaged to information you need to do your job. Me...
  20. pre-delivery "grooming" issue?

John, just something to keep in mind...I'm sure there are a lot of other "stallions" out there who would be happy to pay your wife the attention she wants and don't care about her being as hairless as a 7 year old girl. I sure hope you get yourself ...
  21. oh boy! im scared

First, relax and take a deep breath. One of your first classes should be some sort of nursing math class. When I started my PN program, I was also weak in metric conversions. Your book should have conversions in it ie: 1 lb = 2.2 Kg, 1oz = 30 mL, ...
  22. LVN or RN???

I agree. I've seen a lot of posts saying to go straight for RN, but I also considered the long wait and decided that I wasn't willing to lose 2 or 3 years waiting to get into a RN program. I would rather gain experience as a LPN than wait around fo...
  23. Need advice desperately

Don't beat yourself up completely, it's hard to deal with these types of people. I know the type...late for class and/or clinicals on a regular basis, always trying to get around doing their own work AND they always seem to get away with it. THEN.....
  24. ECPI Raleigh April 2010 LPN??

Hello! I'm currently attending the LPN program at ECPI in Raleigh. I'm in the class that started in December. All I can say is make sure you have lots of time to study. The instructors are great and very knowlegeable with years of experience in "...
