    FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls

I am a term two student in the Nursing program. Judging from the previous terms you guys can pretty much anticipate waiting until the 8th week for your letters. Also, we DID recieve emails to our FSCJ accounts letting us know if we had been accepted. I have all of my term 1 books for sale if anyone is interested. You will need to buy the care plan book, the Lab & Diagnostics Tests, Davis Drug Guide, Tabers (which I haven't even unwrapped), the NCLEX review, and the I-clicker.

I still need the Davis Drug guide and the Cyclopedic Medical dictionary. I am also meeting a guy to buy Pharmacology, Fundamentals, and nurses notes. He is a moving very slow though, so if someone has those, i'd be willing to buy their books.

Actually, the diversity program took 24 seats away from the 144 that the spring term usually admits. Our numbers in orientation were picked from 120 pieces of paper. SO, wherever you got the information about the additional seats is wrong. That is why the cut off has been so high for the last two semesters.

They only drew one vial of blood! Believe me... The one vial is plenty. They call that a rainbow tube. They take small samples from that one vial.

    FCCJ SPRING 2010

Hello guys... here are a few things I found out Do not wait to get your titers. The Varicella vaccines are only mailed out on Wednesday and then they take a week to get back. So, for example, if you go get them done on a Thursday, it will take about two weeks to get them back! I would reccomend going on a Monday or Tuesday, therefore it only takes about a week. Also, TDAP has the Teatnus vaccine in its composition. Therefore, it would be wise of you to get the TDAP instead. Northside Clinic does ALL of the vaccinations and gives a discounted rate to FCCJ students. I heard the lady behind the desk telling another Nursing student that piece of information. Some girls from Keiser were paying twice what we pay for the same things! If any of you work at hospitals, I would get your employee health information. Crystal Porter told me that she would take any information from a hospital. That could save you some money. If you would like to save $22.00, do not get the Hep B titer. You can sign the Declination form in the packet. I only got the required titers and paid $95.00. When I go back to pick up my titers, I am going to have my physical and immunizations done!

Just so everyoe knows... Just because you've had the chicken pox, doesn't mean you're immune. I have had it three times and had the booster series twice! I still lack immunity to it... I REALLY HOPE THAT DOESN'T STOP ME FROM GETTING IN

Everyone I know is aware I applied for the program. I think I get asked at least 6 times a day if I have gotten a letter! I am so ready for SOMETHING...

I have my address registered to my parent's home b/c their mailbox is the most reliable. Therefore, I can't stalk the mailman... I have to wait on a call from my dad! I am sure I would be doing the same thing if I had the letter coming to my house and yes FutureRNMom... Someone should beat me for mediocrity! Those are shoe-in classes for most!

I did the same thing Sarah. I rarely went to class my first term. So, I transferred in a C in Psychology and Sociology of all classes That meant I had to really buckle down and do well in all of the other pre reqs once I transferred to FCCJ! I have my fingers crossed though, for ALL OF US I know a handful of people who got rejected last term, so I am very anxious. Isn't it November already ? LOL

Thanks, but I know it could have been better. I transferred in 2 C's from UNF, before Nursing was my major at FCCJ. I goofed off right out of highschool SHAME on me! Oh well! It is what it is and I hope it was good enough. Good luck to you, also. 202 points seems rather promising!
