patiently waiting 08- remember they base an interview on a point system. i'm not sure what point total garners an interview, but i do know that you will get 2 points for your high gpa...though i think they just look at your math and science gpa. the net is out of 8 points, so worst case scenario you probably will get 6/8 or so. i think that a 25 dollar and 2 hours may be worth a retake if you find out you should. it is a quick way to gain points for the interview. your total points were higher than mine. i was a 893; though remember that total is just part of the scoring. if i were to retake it, i would study the predicting outcomes section of my book and up that score. i would also gain some practical experience working with the public and getting some health care experience. another banner fellow student i know volunteered a year in the er at good sam. she has very little work experience but she put in the time to get familiar with a hospital setting, so she has a better idea what she is in for. if you do not get selected for and interview, you can and should call them to get feedback. i hear they are very forthcoming with how you can improve your application. best wishes-

Banner Nurse Fellows Program Oct 2009 GWCC!

Hi, I'm Rachel. I am trying to put together a meet and greet this coming week. I live in Chandler...where are you coming from? I want to try and choose and in between spot for all parties. I hold a BS in Nutritional Science, but most recently have been working as a Human Resources Exec. I have 3 boys and they keep me busy. I know of 2 other gals that got in and have been conversing with a few more on a different thread that has 66 pages or so, so look there. I'll finalize the location by Saturday and let you know.

Patiently waiting 08 Your composite sounds high, the composite score is your total score, so yes they do give points for that. If it helps, I only scored a 82 on predicting outcomes and was informed that I received points for that score, so fret not. My composite score was a mere 86, and that merited full points as well. If your score are better or match mine than you received all 8 points for the NET , and should not re-take it. The ambiguious area of the application is the essays. I do not know how the essays are scored, though I can tell a personalized answer goes a long way in helping your application stand out. Last question is...do you hold a Bachelors? I know that Gateway Cohort is comprised largely of people holding a BS or BA.

I recently found out I had been accepted to the BNFP for October 2009 at GWCC. I am aware of two other gals in the cohort and wonder if anyone else from the cohort wanted to set up a meet and greet in the coming week of September 13-19th. Getting a Banner Interview... I also have a bit of information for those of you attempting to figure out how the applications are evaluated. It is a point system in which points are granted for each item. The NET Test is worth a total of 8 points...they look at your math...and reading...give points for predicting outcomes and composite score. I received a 93 on math and a 79 on reading and was granted all 8 points for my NET. YOUR GPA is worth 2 points...3.0- above = 2 points... 2.25- 3.0 =1 point.. Then the essays are weighted as well. This is earsay, but I heard that the final essay question on experience carries a decent amount of weight. So you can see that GPA is less of a concern that your ability to test and express yourselves in essay form. So,focus on those areas versus re-taking classes. Hope this helps! Has anyone heard whether or not they have finalized the list of 30 for the octoberGWCC 09 co-hort? I get the feeling they will not mail our packets until they have finalized the list.
