I didn't buy it, but did rent it from B&N for 30 days (9.95). yeah, it hammered home the delegation process!

I just used it to count the number of alternate questions I received (23 SATA, 3 charts, 2 Pictures, 2 put in order) out of 75. I was going to "brain dump" but then the test started, and I just dove in.. I think I reviewed the allnurses study guide so much that it was tattooed in my brain!

I took and passed on 2/18 and the board updated this morning showing my license as active!! WOOHOO!

I too am in CA, and my other RN buddies had their license posted in 48 hours, and had their license received via mail within a week. Exciting! I too passed this weekend, but due to the weekend and holiday on Monday our results may not be posted until mid week?

Thanks everyone!!! I gotta say, the tips/advice/encouragement from allnurses.com really really helped too!!! I think I slept all night with a smile on my face!

Got the "good" pop up on Pearson!!! SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!! Praise God! I kept track of how many "alternate" forms of questions I got, since I was convinced the number would be 15 and they would be the questions that were tossed out.. well, that theory didn't hold true. 23 SATA, 4 pictures, 3 place in order and 3 charts. The best part of the day? My fellow RN classmate, and friend took it with me and we both raised our hand indicating being finished at the EXACT same time!! We prayed together before walking in and my specific prayer was give us both 75 questions, and have us pass together.. God took it one step further and had us REALLY finish together (she too had 75 questions and passed). I feel Kaplan did a great job of preparing me. Once I finished all the tests and Qbanks, and had 10 days or so left until todays exam, I purchased the 3 week access for NCSBN, and did all their questions too! Then I rented Lacharity from barnes and nobles (9.95) and did all 18 chapters! So was that all needed? Maybe not, but since I passed, I thought I would share my study habits! My wife now has her husband back and my twin 5 year old girls have their daddy back full time! Now just excited to see it officially on the BON!!

I am taking the NCLEX on Saturday! Super nervous!

@nursedreamjob - I too am in California and have had a few friends pass the NCLEX and the BON had their name posted with license in about 2-3 days. The actual license was mailed and received in under a week.

As I prepare to take the NCLEX on 2/18, the words of wisdom from my wonderful wife "God carried you this far, He is not going to drop you now" is replaying in my head. Thanks for the wonderful post!

I am graduating on Dec 16 from Yuba RN program, and they are phasing out the wait list and going to a lottery system. If you are already on the wait list, apparently they will still honor that, just not add any more. The lottery is going to include a "formula" of GPA, HESI score, work experience, etc.. I think that is the part they are finalizing. Good luck! Oh, and I must have missed the post above your, but @QC82, not sure if you are already in the program.. I worked 1/2 time the entire time in school.. it was hard, but doable. My lab partner did the same, which worked out for us since we were in the same boat, we knew how to better support each other.

Do you know if the audio cds have been updated? I have a set of the lectures, but don't know how old they are... thanks and congrats on passing!

I am starting 2nd semester in August with rotations in Med Surg II and Maternity/Peds. I love the program and my 1st sem instructor was AMAZING!! I have a great core of friends/classmates and while nervous/anxious to start 2nd semester, I am also looking forward to the challenge. What is your waitlist #?

Orientation went well. I am the next alternate, so may not start in Fall, but definitely Spring! I left my packet at home and am at work.. can you confirm with me that the lectures are M and W 9-1250 and then the clinical is TR 630-2pm? just trying to get my work schedule organized! congrats on starting!!

Sorry, didnt see your post waaaay back in May! I passed the exam and was just asked if I would accept an alternate position for this Fall! have my orientation tomorrow! How about you?

I took the HESI last week and passed with an 88%! I was so nervous going in and actually had a lot of post test anxiety! I had the study guide (helpful) the HESI "secrets" (eh kind of helpful) and then I re-read through A&P, Chem and Bio study guides (Cliffs etc). Good luck to everyone else scheduled to take it!

Yes, I too am seeking out the best ways to study the bio, chem and A&P parts of the test. I have the study guide as well as the mo-media study guide "secrets". can anyone share the main topic areas for the sciences? thanks! oh, and one last question.. is the HESI Entrance score a combined score or each section on its own? For example, if I get HIGH scores on math, grammar, vocab.. would that offset a lower score say in chem?

Have you taken the HESI yet? Did you find the study guide to be adequate in the sciences review? I have the Elsevier guide as well as the "HESI Study Guide Secrets"... seems to be covering it all!! thanks!
