Its funny because half of my family live in the states, and when I talk to them they say they have never experienced racist/sexist attitudes. They said they felt more at home in the US than they did in Britian.

I think its great that Alabama has made slight progress. I would like to ask when nursing patients who were of the "discrimination and segregation era" how do you deal with them when they make comments are deemed offensive??

I suppose its the "deep south" and people have long memories and also the deep souths reputation for discrimination still lives on in the eyes of the rest of the world.
