  1. I couldn't agree more. OP fall back and stop the drama-stop it from escalating. Let it end with U
  2. I agree. Slowly but surely it's coming to light. The truth cannot be suppressed. Thank you for going against this false narrative Boosted much?
  3. After several years in nursing, I agree- self first. Sadly there's no loyalty and if there's an accident or death (God forbid), you or your family will be the ones left figuring things out. Management will barely bat an eye.
  4. You're delusional. This isn't communist Russia and every American has a right to know and feel comfortable with what goes into their bodies-remember the Tuskegee syphilis study? Washing hands isn't comparable to receiving a vaccine. One's invasive, the other's not, but have at it ?
  5. Ugh..im sorry you're having to deal with this sort of thing. It's not bad enough with high acuity patients circling the drain, but also having to deal with a coworker who is attention hungry and doesnt think twice about throwing one under the bus to make herself look good. I don't know what the deal is, but if a nurse happens to be reading this and this is your MO, stop it already. Y'all are everywhere and its disgusting. Consider yourself warned..and never ask this nurse for help or accept help from her. It's truly unfortunate as its the patient who ultimately suffers but she's not beyond placing more serious blame on you & in just a matter of time, she will

I feel your pain OP.. Nursing is a toxic environment sadly. I chose to travel so i know no matter how awful it gets, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. If you can travel, go. Check out gypsy nurse on fb for inspiration.
  7. Hi, don't give up...remember there's a nurse for "that". You'll find your niche..
  8. This post will be the nail in your coffin if you even had a tiny chance of them taking you back WOW Wuzzie!
  9. To all the vile, nasty nurses who eat their young: You know who you are. STOP IT ALREADY! To everyone else, its up to us to put a stop to this counterproductive, misreable behavior. Sorry to hear you were black listed, take comfort in knowing you're a nurse and there will be work.
  10. I attended the ace program. Its the hardest thing I ever did & I can not in good faith recommend it even to my worse enemy. Yes it's doable but unfortunately the quality isn't there. Sorry Drexel, you're OVERRATED! Be prepared to teach yourself everything you need to know.
  11. Dont be stupid. You want to be a nurse, acrylic nails are not favourable. They harbour germs and God knows what else and I know of no employer in the medical field who favours them. They'll have to come off eventually and plus dont you want to be comfortable why taking the exam? Isnt it cumbersome to type and with those things on? What if you hit incorrect keys? Anyway, whatever. To each his own.
  12. I havent been a nurse for long and I denfinitely feel cold hearted. During my last shift, we had a 26yr old come in. He'd been drinking and yes, driving and was very intoxicated and ended up killing 3 others. He was banged up pretty badly and complaining of excrutiating pain and I felt nothing. Now thank goodness he wasnt my patient because as horrible as it is to say this, I dont even know if I could find it in my psyche to give him anything that would make him feel better ugh! Or how bout the seekers? The drug seekers? I have no idea why this particular patient is still a patient. Almost 70, looks as sweet as can be and all she wants is more, more, more pain meds. So much so her BP dropped to 80/50. All she does is walk about-inside and out, make coffee, eat all she wants, plus there are no physical signs or anything to suggest she's in pain especially not with that low BP. For all you out there who'd like to say "pain is subjective"-yada yada, I know, please save it. She asked for dilaudid, I gave motrin, you shouldve seen the look on her face! I have absolutely no tolerance for patients like this and Im not there to be your drug supplier/pusher. So yes Im becoming colder and colder and having less tolerance for BS. And all you doctors/prescribers out there who enable patients like this just so you dont have to deal, STOP IT already! Peace and Blessings
  13. I attend Drexel and wouldnt recommend it to anyone!
  14. Hi! I look forward to seeing all you future nurses next month!!! If you are in need of housing, I live in W. Phila and two rooms in the house will become available in the next few weeks. I also drive and school is about 10 mins away so we can always pool.. Oh, I have a cat too :paw: I'm on the quiet side and dont care for DRAMA-at all. If you're interested let me know! Race isnt an issue as I've lived with people from several countries. Just be clean, drama free, quiet or at least some what, respectful and responsible and all should be well. I believe in Yahweh as He's first and foremost in my life so if thats not your thing, or you resent or harbor negative thoughts about Christians, then this probably is not the right fit for you. Take care and Good luck!
  15. Hello and sorry for the wait. First off good luck with the exam. You get 3hrs for 135 questions. Hopefully you took the practice exams as they helped tremendously. What else? Lets see... Be confident and dont panic. Take time to read through the questions and take a break if you need one. Well good luck and come tell us how well you did :)
  16. Hello, Hoping you can help. I'll be starting the program in March. Just wondering if you're selling any of your books? thank you
