Any advice for smoking/non-smoking relationship?

I am in a similar situation. I am a non-smoker the boyfriend is. When we met he was trying to quit...however a year & half later and in love, he decides not to try to quit anymore and asks me to deal with it , w/out the sly comments. How to cope?...
