    Sometimes having the medical director or attending speak with the family helps. Social work as well.
  7. You never know whether you're going out until you get the call and triage it. Most of the time our nurses have to go out, but not always. You are also going to have death calls in the middle of the night. Hospice is unpredictable.

    Be ready for questions/interventions for pain control, respiratory difficulty, foley catheter issues, pts running out of meds and supplies, equipment failure, dressing changes, Medication concerns from family, etc.

    I would pick up the phone on Monday and call the LBON. You will keep your TX license and apply for LA license in addition to what you have. They will be able to walk you through the process, step by step. Good Luck! :)
