Just did 3 flu clinics last week. What a nightmare! People waiting in line for 3 to 4 hours just to get they're shot. Only 2 nurses, gave between 180 to 200 shots in four hours! Have another one tommorrow, then no more, because the rest were cancell...

Absolutely take time off to study!!!!! I know someone who went on vacation instead of going to our NCLEX review. Well she did not pass the NCLEX first time around, had to take a review course and passed in Sept. She also had a job waiting for her, an...

I started out on PP and Nursery right away. Found that the floor was a little too physically demanding for me at 35 y.o., I also had a lot of issues that I did not bring to my NM, instead my back pain made it very easy to just quit. I am now regretti...

Thank You, I did just that. I moved on to another lousy position, but then I started to think that I made a mistake leaving the hospital. But looking back, I don't think I did. But now, I am a little scared to back into the hospital setting. All I ev...

No I was not an independent contractor, I worked for the company. And it was not so much shift work, but scheduling appointments with clients. At first I went out on appointments with other people, then on screening's. The whole bunch is made up of d...

As a new grad, I have seen some scary nurse-patient ratio's. Does anyone ever feel like they could loose there license working under such conditions? And if so how do you deal with it? I worked very hard to get my license, as did everyone else, and I...

I think that you are very fortunate to have found a good hospital to work at. During my experience I must have heard twice a day that someone was quitting. Not to mention the scary nurse-patient ratios, especially the nursery, with many times 13-15 b...

Yes it is all totally legal, because you get paid from billing hours. And if all the paper work is not in before the billing period is up, then it goes on the next period, but you only get paid every two weeks. The whole thing really stinks.

Okay first of all, I know that nurses assess mothers and babies, that is not my problem. Second, I never said that my back would not hurt in L&D. Third, I worked very hard to get my BSN, and yes I do want to do nursing, as you put it! And if anyo...

Early Intervention is working with at risk children from ages 0-3 years. Most of them are developmentally behind because of various reasons like low-income, prematurity, and other risk factors. I would love to work in a doctors office, but most want ...

Hi All, I am experiencing a great dilema. Here is my story. After getting my license, I was fortunate enough to get a job in Maternity. When I was hierd, the nurse manager told me that she needed me for L&D, which I was very excited about. Howeve...
Does anyone wear Dansko, and if so how are they? I spent a fortune on birkinstock's, and I absolutely hate them! I want a pair of shoes that do not make your feet or back hurt, and don't take years to break in. I am searching for the perfect nursing ...
I Took the NCLEX today, and I am still experiencing shell shock. The computer shut down at 110, and I was not sure of most answers. The whole thing is like a blurr right now. I only had one new question, but the whole test was very difficult. Not fee...
I took NCLEX yesterday, and today I am sick, just thinking about how badly I probably did. I know that I got the last question right, all the others, not so sure about. Does anyone know if that is a good sign or not? Anyone know that they definately ...
Definately go to see a good endo. At around the age of 18, I suffered from migraine headaches, and pain in my neck. No one could ever figure out why. They only got progressively worse, and at the age of 29, I started to gain lots of weight, around 10...

The computer shut down for me at around 110, and I passed. A friend of mine took it a week later, it shut down for her at 75, and she failed. The number of questions really do not matter. The waiting is very difficult, and we all know how you feel. T...
