  1. fundamentals of nursing

Sanart, you should check out the syllabus posted on KBCC's Nursing Dept. website. It will give you all of the info you need for fundamentals, and it even lists the readings that we will be responsible for. Good luck!
  2. Kingsborough NLN score/results?? May 2009

I feel the same way! Hopefully we'll here something soon....I don't like not knowing.
  3. NLN Results....

Wow! That's an awesome score Keith. Congratulations and good luck getting into your program. I scored a 142....97th percentile. I'm waiting to hear from my school about acceptance for Fall 2009. Any day now...
  4. Have you looked into Queensborough Community College, or Laguardia? They're both good schools and since you live in Queens, they would be convenient.
  5. Kingsborough NLN score 2009

The letter from the nursing department with instructions for applying and the NLN, etc., says that the letters will go out in June. I'm assuming that they are waiting for this semester's grades to be posted.
  6. Kingsborough NLN score 2009

Sanart, they don't only base decisions on the NLN score...they also look at your grades. Don't worry.
  7. Kingsborough NLN score 2009

    I got a 142 composite.
  8. In-School Loan Deferment - How Did They Know?

Some schools let the lender know that you are attending school, and whether it's on a half time, full time, etc.
  9. Kingsborough NLN score 2009

I agree that it's a pain in the ass to get into, but so are the other CUNY schools.
  10. Kingsborough NLN score/results?? May 2009

They also make their decision based on how you do in the four pre-clinical classes. I think they take about 110 students.
  11. Microbiology over the Summer - New to Forum

I would go for it. You'll be so happy you did once it's over! I'm taking microbiology now, and I think it's easier than A&PI & II. It's quite interesting, actually. Good luck with your decision.
  12. Anybody Still Waiting?

My school is supposed to let us know some time in June. I think they're waiting for this semester to be over so they can calculate the grades into the GPA. The semester ends the second week in June so hopefully by the end of that month I'll know. ...
  13. NLN TEST this saturday! help =(

Hey! I'm taking the NLN this Saturday at Kingsborough as well. Good luck!
  14. Bizarre Lab Practical-

All of my lab practicals for A&P II involved the cat. The toughest one was blood vessels since they're so small. They say a cat has a very similar anatomy to a human and it is not realistic to use human cadavers at this point. I agree.
  15. how are you and will you pay for school?

I worked as a paralegal for ten years and decided last May to quit and go back to school full time and pursue my nursing career. I lived off of savings until now. Now I am babysitting (I get to study while the baby sleeps) and living off of loans t...
  16. microbiology in summer school?

I think it is realistic. I took A&P II in a six week session and pulled off an A. It took up most of my time, but I think it was worth it. I'm currently taking microbiology and I definitely think you can do it in an eight week session, especia...
  17. Textbooks editions.. the infamous problem.

I usually buy the newer edition. This semester I tried buying the old edition for my two classes (microbiology and physics), and I ended up having to buy the new one anyway for my physics class, but the microbiology book, I'm getting by with since m...
  18. I'M ****** OFF!!!!!!

Some of the best professors I've had got terrible ratings on RMP. I think that some students want to put the blame on someone else when they do poorly, so they bash the professor with bad reviews. In my opinion, Ratemyprofessor.com is not a very re...
  19. What do you think about a six week A&P class???

I took A&P II over the winter module at my school, which is a six week course. It was pretty tough since they are cramming all that information into six weeks. Class met four nights a week as well, so all my time was spent either studying, in c...
  20. Can't wait until june!!

I have to wait until June also. I can't wait either, but it will be here before we know it!!
  21. Hey all - I was wondering if anybody ever repeated one of the pre-clinical courses at Kingsborough and was accepted into the program. I got a bad grade in one of the pre-clinicals (psy 11) over ten years ago when I went for my first degree. I rep...
  22. 33 years old and starting over

I am 34 years old, and in June I left my job as a Legal Secretary (of over ten years) to go back to school for nursing. I will be finished with my pre-requisites after next semester and will be applying for the actual nursing program for Fall 2009. ...
  23. Solvita - did you apply to change your major to pre-clinical? Did they send u a letter telling you that was why you weren't allowed to change the major or did an advisor tell u that? I'm just curious because I'm about to apply for a change of curri...
  24. Any Nursing Applicants For Fall 2009?

I'm planning on applying at KBCC for Fall ' 09. I'm a little worried about some grades that I received a long time ago when I went there for my first degree over ten years ago. I'll try my best and keep my fingers crossed.
