Hey all -
I was wondering if anybody ever repeated one of the pre-clinical courses at Kingsborough and was accepted into the program.
I got a bad grade in one of the pre-clinicals (psy 11) over ten years ago when I went for my first degree. I repeated the course this year and got an A. I want to apply for the Fall '09 class and just wanted to know what my chances are if I get A's in Bio11 and Sci 25. I got a B in Eng 12.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks!

I would say that your chances are pretty good. If you were allowed to repeat psy11 and received an A then that grade will be used. I took sci25 and bio11 at the same time(big mistake) and received a B and C+ and got into the nursing program.
Good Luck with everything

Hi
I had a very similar situation in August. I don't want to go into details here. It turned out well, but I STRONGLY recommend that you speak to an advisor (George is fantastic) and get written confirmation that the withdrawal will not be held against you.
It probably won't because the rule probably didn't exist back then.
But don't leave it to chance. And, if you're told it will, go up the chain.
Good luck

Do you want to know chances to finish the program at KCC? I had friends at KCC. Out of 105 people 2 years back, completed the program around 27 people.. Each semester on average 20 people fail. That is a real statistic as you can get. Also, as far as I know KCC Nursing faculty not happy that students do not pass 100% on NCLEX , the number is around 83-86%, so they planning to rise the passing grade to 78%. NICE! AND STUDENTS GET TREATED LIKE A DIRT.
Just finished Bio 11. The professors are fantastic! If you want to learn, they'll help you in anyway they can.
The students are another story. More than a few should have been dismissed from the class within the first four weeks...they didn't have either the maturity or intelligence to do well and were a drag on the class.
I suggest you learn English, or at least learn to construct a basic English sentence before you pass judgement on the department.
My comment was about Kingsborough CC at Brooklyn, NY.
So was mine.
