  1. How about summer camps??? Many are always looking for nurse help! Just a thought! Have a wonderful trip! Sounds very exciting!
  2. Patti_RN, Congrats that's awesome news!! Believe it or not, I just completed everything yesterday. About how long did it take from completed app to acceptance? Again, congrats! That's so exciting!!
  3. Congrats ans0014, that's great news!!
  4. For those of you who have applied/accepted, what was your GPA (I'm not being rude, just asking if I have a shot with a 3.2). I'm not sure if it's worth the time/money for application if I have no chance.
  5. Patti_RN, when will you be starting? Will you be in the March class? I recently applied and am waiting to hear on them. How long did it take to hear back from them with a decision?? I'm wondering what will happen since I didn't take the GRE's or shadow a FNP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed b/c I'd really love to get into this program! ETA: Nerdy Nikki ... what was your class cohorts like grade wise? Did everyone have over 3.7? I read somewhere that all excepted students basically have over a 3.7 and if you had anything less than a 3.5 don't bother applying. Patti_RN - did you find this to be true?
  6. So Bariq - how'd it go?? Are you loving where you work now?? I'm hoping that you like it and that there are no negatives about the facility itself.
  7. WOW, I haven't even gotten off the first page and have tears in my eyes. Thank you to all you wonderful teachers, nurses, preceptors, and those who have BTDT. I cannot wait for an amazing experience like the ones I'm reading. I have an interview to be a NICU tech, and while I"m nervous, I'm totally excited about the idea. Thanks for making the day seem even more amazing! Please keep it up, us nursing students need more enthusiastic "teaching" mentors!
  8. I cannot believe how quick this first nursing semester passed by! I am a part time student and just completed my first two nursing classes!! I am so excited! Honestly, I wish I would have done better grade wise, but I am just ahppy that I passed. Sadly, we lost quite a few people from my class ... but I keep telling myself that I can get through this and will graduate in 2011. If it goes as fast as this semester did, it'll be here in the blink of an eye!
  9. I think once you have your mind set n stone that this is truly what you want, no matter how hard it seems, you just keep pushing forward to make it a reality. I too have 3 under 5 and boy are there times when I am exhausted ... physically and mentally. Make sure your hubby is on board and is willing to take on a little more around the house. Also, line yourself up with 2 great, reliable babysitters. Once that's all in place, only little road bumps will get in your way. Best of luck to you - you can do this!
  10. I am starting NS as well this summer! I start 5/18/09 and graduate 8/2011. It will be a long road, but one I'm ready for! Good luck to you guys!
  11. WTG! What an accomplished person you are! Congratulations on your dream job! It's not gloating when you worked your butt off for it! Reap the benefits, and enjoy your dreams!
  12. AMEN! It's so nice to see others who believe in HIM. I'm happy to hear that you're problems are better now. Keep trust within the Lord, and He will work miracles through you.
  13. Thanks so much! I didn't even see the sticky on the top, and I read through the first 3 pages! I'll be reading that's for sure! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.
  14. I am just starting NS in May, and looking towards the future to continue with my education in become a NP. I was thinking that it would be wise to have experience first before entering school, but then also see the other side where being in the swing of school work would be quite helpful. Can any of you experienced RNs/NPs advise me in the right direction? Thanks so much for any input you can give!
  15. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I hope you had a wonderful night! I am just starting NS in May and to hear success stories always make me smile!
  16. I wish I could join you, as I feel the same way ... but sadly I have summer classes starting with less than a week for a summer vacation. Anything at this point has to be better than books ... hope you have a great summer vacation!!
  17. I just wanted to say CONGRATS on your pregnancy!! How very exciting. Since I am not familiar with FL laws, I just want to wish you the best with the work situation!!
  18. sad I went to message Itzcecile and it only accepts people who are on her friends list ... I really enjoyed them as well. Hannah hasn't done one since spring break! She must be busy!! Any other new ones??
  19. I have to admit that I am impressed by today's young woman and their study ethic, but that is based upon what I was doing in my 20's. It is refreshing to see that these younger girls have their stuff in order and can still maintain a social life while keeping a great GPA. Truthfully, I'm envious b/c I wish I would have had the same self discipline these younger girls have when I was there age ... sheesh, I'd be a seasoned nurse by now instead of just starting!! So kudos to all you young women out there ... don't let us older ladies get under your skin!! Not everyone is like that!
  20. I actually purchased the TEAS practice tests the week of the test. It was very helpful for me. It showed me not only the format, but gave me the answers as I took the test to explain why the answer I chose was wrong. With that, I was able to review my weak areas, and when I actually took the test I did very well. I think it's all a matter of preference. I was actually bent about spending the money, but now I'm glad I did.
  21. Wow, isn't God wonderful ... thank you for being who you are. It's so refreshing to know that good people are still out there in today's day and age.
  22. I had to laugh b/c I had a "Jan" in my pre-req classes as well (seems like there's a Jan in every class). The best had to be when we took an open book exam for a class and all she did was copy the girl in front and even tried looking at my paper. The results ... she got low 80s while the rest of us got high 90s!! So much for cheating!! But like another person said ... cheating will not help her come time for the NCLEX. Poor girl.
