  1. PMHNP Vs. Psychiatry MD

^LOL at the bolded. Damn MD taking the easy route through a decade plus of training and wanting to pay back their loans and be an expert in their field!
  2. Ruining My Career?

Sounds like a great opportunity. Med/surg nursing will be there if you want to come back, no rush.
  3. Nurse Practitioner Needed/Not Needed?

She/he never commented on the difficulty of CRNA school. If anything, you're supporting her point by saying how difficult the barriers are to CRNA school, thus limiting saturation.
  4. Quality of Online NP Programs and Providers

Yeah... and residency pay is averaging $61k, not $75k. Don't think you're working 40 hour weeks either, try 80-100+ hours a week, regardless of any hour restrictions.
  5. Quality of Online NP Programs and Providers

Wow, how'd you manage that? And you haven't found out where you matched yet, right? Congrats doc!
  6. Witchcraft Resurgence

    What's wrong with statins?
  7. Midlines and Nephrology Sign off

Please ask someone on your floor. I'm curious of this! Also, we're definitely talking midlines right, not central lines?
  8. Why is BSN required for CRNA?

Some pharm d. programs just require pre-reqs. You can hash that out in 2 years and go into your 4 years graduate program.
  9. Witchcraft Resurgence

It's all about that reiki. https://www.aacn.org/newsroom/impact-research-grants-top-$1-million-in-total-funding
  10. Witchcraft Resurgence

Confused, OP used witchcraft as a figure of speech, don't even know what the other people are arguing for now. Was hoping we stick to the home remedy stuff :/.
  11. Preceptor has 1 and half year of work experience

I've been through this. I would keep my head down and play along, finish your preceptorship and practice how you'd like. Don't fight it, it'll only turn out badly for you if you do.
  12. Bad orientation should I leave

Consider yourself lucky you dodge a bullet. I would run from this place. You know your worth!
  13. Doctors offended by TV show about nurses

I'm getting mixed messages about this post. Are doctors asses or not?
  14. Doctors offended by TV show about nurses

Agree with everything you said, but all the nurses here seem to be glad about the bolded. Isn't nursing one of the most trusted field? Who's going to lobby against the ANA? They'll just look like the bad guy no matter how you cut it. Doctors are alre...
  15. Doctors offended by TV show about nurses

Why not just have a whole hospital run by NPs and nurses?
  16. Why is BSN required for CRNA?

Parts of any degree are useless. It is what it is until things changes. No shame in thinking about advance degrees this early either.
  17. Any other options??

Primary care clinic for sure, definitely will help you in your NP pursuits too.
  18. Need Advice on Accused Medication Error

Ya'll just proving her point, it's hilarious. Good luck in the future Shannon!
  19. Is it the idea of NPs in general Dr. Leah Houston is disgusted with?

I briefly scanned these. One is a systematic review with many studies in question having NP who were supervised by attendings. It didn't even list the database they used. Who their right mind would do a real study giving NPs and physicians equal acui...
  20. Is it the idea of NPs in general Dr. Leah Houston is disgusted with?

This is because she is an unpleasant person. Please disregard her title.
  21. Stethoscope recommendations?

Master cardiology 3 or 4. I have both, can't really tell the difference.
  22. FNP study tactics

Try flashcards(anki, not quizlet) and do daily questions. I do a cursory reading of any new topics, then spend the rest of the time reviewing and questions.
  23. RN in Medical School -Should I keep this to myself?

It's not that big of a deal. You're also years away from rotations. Like someone else said previously, just show them how good you are by your actions and anticipate the needs of the nursing/ancillary staff.
  24. No, still got financial aid with 1+ bachelor's. I still stand with what I said earlier, but looks like majority vote for you to finish your degree as a backup.
  25. Preparing for Clinicals

Generally see people follow usptf recommendations and read afp, which gives good summary articles. Oh, you ask for a book, not sure then...usually easier to pull up guidelines from uptodate on my phone since they pull from major societies anyways.
