How do you remember to check on patients q 15min or 2hrs, etc?

When I was floor nursing and had a lot going on I would use the timer and alarm on my cell phone. If I had to do q1h neuro checks I would set the timer. If I had antibiotics to hang I would set my alarm, etc.

Definitely call and see if you are still being considered. At least you will know and can move on. You're "acquaintance" will get his in the end. He won't be able to use good looks to get out of losing his license once he really screws up.

How can you neglect a patient and live with yourself?

This makes me tear up. This is one of the major reasons I left my last job. I'd go home every morning worried about how my residents would be treated by the day and evening shift. :-( My heart and nerves couldn't take it anymore.

We have a WIC nurse. She does WIC certifications and signs referrals for PHRM/ISS. I wonder if they will eventually phase out her position. We have two Nutritionist and I do my own WIC for my patients.
