I have Hep B. I got it when I was 17 from a guy who turned out to have given it to ALOT of girls. :angryfire He was a jerk. He is also dead now because of the disease. I am 38 and as far as the doctor can tell my liver is good and I have no serious symptoms. I am tired sometimes and scared most of the time. My school also said they didnt have a problem with me starting school. I am planning to start the fall quarter in Nursing School. I think it will be hard on everyone to keep up with our work and clinicals. I am just going to eat right and exercise. I believe I will be able to handle it. Good Luck on your schooling... :)
  2. I had it in 94. I was a HH. I had to have them special made. $65 a each. They took off 10 lbs and I am still a D cup. I lost 110 lbs a couple a year ago and they are still a D. I am VERY satisfied with my surgery. I have more sensation than I had before. It is great!

Thanks. I thought I was dead as soon as I found out I had it. I remember when I was 17 giving blood and the Red Cross sent me a letter telling me I had Hep B and I needed to see a doctor. (Found out a few years later it was a guy I dated who gave it to me and several other girls.) I freaked out and didnt do anything about it. Last year my brother was diagnosed and we were all checked out to make sure we were alright. I have it. I had a breast reduction in 94, a hysterectomy in 2000 and gastric bypass in 2002. I had all kinds of blood work done before surgery. Noone found it. I even told them I thought I had it, but noone said anything about it until I specifically asked to be tested for it. I asked what ya'll thought because I don't want to give it to someone by accident while being a nurse. (PS. My husband of 16 yrs doesn't have it. How is that possible?)

I was wondering if you all could help me. I was recently diagnosed with Hepititis B. I have had it since I was 17. I have had several surgeries and bloodwork done, but noone has ever found it or found anything wrong with my liver. Why am I not having problems with my liver? I thought Hepititis was a very serious thing. Should I be a nurse and possibly affect others? I am interested in your opinion. Thanks.. :) PS. I am 37 yrs old.
  5. Wow this is really a thread I needed to read. I have Hepatitis B. I have had it for 20 yrs with no apparent problems. I have cronic bronchitis and seem to catch every single germ that comes my way. My doctor has had me on so many antibiotics this winter and I still have terrible sinus problems. I work with Mentally Challenged Adults and every 2 wks I catch something from them. I am 38 and have always wanted to be a nurse. I just hate to spend the time and money for nursing school and find out I am not physically able to do it. I had to stop doing hair because I couldnt stand the chemicals and hair spray. I feel so discouraged because there just isnt anything I am interested in besides nursing. What do you all think?
