    Yes, they CAN be and when the RN actually sits down to do the nurses duties the techs get huffy cause you're not out on the floor helping them do their jobs. The techs can't help with my duties but...

    I smoke myself but I don't take "cigar" breaks unless it is my breakfast or lunch break. She is abusing her breaks. I would tell her to start the patch while she's at work and smoke on her own

    Wow this is very :eek::eek::eek:disturbing...FMC has to have a RN on the unit...techs will have to be certified in TX and they can cannulate but can't do caths. God be with those pts that have techs...
