  1. Apothecaries' system?

I teach pharm and med-math and I just touch on drams and grains. Occasionally you run into a doc that is older and still uses drams and grains. If you run into it on NCLEX it is usually a question regarding ASA or Tylenol which is ordered gr x (and...
  2. Vag exams

Many years ago a physcian sat with me at night in labor hall until I could learn the ins and outs. He kept telling me to either feel for a hole that my fingers would slip into, or a stretch rubberband that I could run my fingers around. Hurray! On...
  3. On Line Masters Program?

  7. "They" really don't understand!

Nursing school is hard - thats because when you get out of school you are given the job of making truly life or death decisions regarding other peoples lives. As adult learners we all strive to make the "A" and people in less intense programs do not...
  8. Anyone doing Doctoral studies

Just wondering if anyone is working on a PhD or a DNS? I am suppose to start on my PhD in a few weeks but wonder if the clinical degree would be better suit my needs as an instructor (associate professor of nursing at a small college). Any thoughts...
  9. Chronic Tardiness

At our facility we start report on time regardless if everyone is there or not. Those that are tardy have to get report from the unit manager and on night shift from the house supervisor. These incidents are written up and placed in the nurses file...
  10. How many staff members attend a delivery??

The doc, the labor hall RN, and an RN from the nursery.
