   We get a really nice Thanksgiving meal, as well as time and a half. For Christmas, our department holds a party off-site; we also get another nice meal from the hospital, a $25 gift certificate, and time and a half.

   On our floor, when we need to transfer a patient from bed to stretcher, chair, etc., we overhead page for "lift team" and whoever is available to help out goes to that particular room. We also make use of sliding boards and lifting equipment.

    I did take the Kaplan class; but I also studied using Saunders and Mosbys. I would recommend using the CD's for both and doing at least 100 questions/day, which is what I did. There are some sites on the internet with sample questions that may help...
