  2. Nope. I'm taking 18 credits, I go to school Monday-Friday. I have 5 lectures and 3 labs. And I work 4 nights a week. It can get stessful at times, but anything is possible if you keep your eye on the prize!
  3. My school is 45 minutes away. It will take longer in the morning to drive there because of bad traffic (the school is near Boston)....and I know that it's going to SUCK when winter gets here!! But it will all be worth it. I am a little worried about paying for gas since it's getting so it's expensive lately....but luckily my work is barely 5 minutes away from my house, so I have that going for me at least.
  4. don't give up hope! 16 is probably the worst age for a girl...i was the same way with my mom. i don't know how she put up with me from ages 15-17. now i'm 22 and i consider my mother to be my best friend. don't worry, she'll grow out of it.
  5. Okay, so the wait for the letter was unbearable, and now that I'm in I'm finding that the wait for school to begin is becoming unbearable! I currently work as a receptionist in a dentist office and I hate it! I love being in the medical field but I hate doing office work all day. :typing Although I know that come September I will be leaving, so I just have to stick it out, I don't know if I can wait that long!! Anyone else stuck in a job they hate right now? I would love to hear from other people that dread going to work everyday so I know I'm not alone. Oh and congrats to everyone that received acceptance letters and good luck to those who are still waiting!!
  6. Thanks! What a relief. I hope you get in for this fall! My fingers are crossed for you.
  7. Hey everyone. I was accepted into a nursing program (yay!) but I have to fill out a form that says I'm accepting the spot within 2 weeks, or they will withdraw my application. I just went to the post office to mail it and put it in one of those blue mail box things in front of the post office, but I realized that I put it in EXPRESS mail, not the other regular mail box! They looked exactly the same! I know that people who use express mail pay for it before hand, so do you think they will just realize I made a mistake and still mail it?? Or will they have to send it back to me??? I know it's sounds stupid but I'm just nervous because I want them to know ASAP that I'm accepting my spot into the program!! And now here is my sane question :chuckle... I'm actually just curious. Who's still waiting on an acceptance letter? And if you have received an acceptance letter, when does your program begin?
  8. They accept 30 once a year, every fall - this is at a community college.
  9. The requirements vary from each college, but I would definitely recommend getting all your pre-reqs out of the way before you start nursing school! Nursing school is very demanding and time consuming, and it's better to get most, if not all, of your pre-reqs out of the way so you can completely focus on your nursing courses. Also, most schools just state the MINIMUM requirements to be considered for admission. I know that most schools around here say "minimum 2.5 gpa" but they won't even consider you unless you have at least a 3.5
  10. Hey everyone. I'm new to the site and glad to be here! I will be starting nursing school this fall, however to secure my spot I must have my doctor fill out the mandatory health forms that the school has mailed to me. On this form, it has a spot for the doctor to enter the physical date and it must be within 12 months of the start of classes (which would be September). However, my last physical was done on July 24th 2007, and when I called my doctor's office to make a physical appt, they said the next available date to get a physical exam would be on September 22nd this year! I talked to the receptionist, and she said I don't need an appointment to have my doctor fill out the health forms....but I'm scared that my doctor will put down my last physical exam date, which is obv not within 12 months of September! Any advice?? I don't want to not be able to go to nursing school because of something this silly.
