At the last hospital I worked (TN) we had a few LPNs. They were responsible for their own patient assignment but an RN had to do the assessment once per shift, and review the plan of care. There were...
The only thing we use duoderm for is sometimes to kind of pad around a CPAP nasol mask. Don't know about the answer to your question but I would be interested to
Our neos and NNPs are thankfully trying to decrease the # of uneccessary lab draws for the long termers, a blessing if you have to stick heels for labs every day that no one is even doing anything...

Its standard in our unit too, I just wonder about the whole "rooting reflex goes away" part of it. I am pretty sure that has to do with age of the kiddo, not neccessarily with not recieving PO feeds....
It sounds like you are in the wrong unit not the wrong area of nursing! Hang in there! We all go through this type of stuff. It seems, from you post, that what's got you down is the stupid assinine...
AIDS and other bloodborne pathogens aside, I think I have ya'll beat. Once I had a senior practicum student working with me and she was shooting the air out of a big ole 60 cc syringe full of...
That thing over the heated cot (we dont have those but I imagine it is similar to an open bed warmer?) is the coolest. We are always getting into trouble for trying to fashion "tents" for those...
Yup us too. our unit recently outlawed our little stash of donated clothing because the laundry was such an issue. We still take the clean clothes when donated but they stay with that kid, the parents...
