We do this in sweden too, in my limited exerience they seem to work very well, cause no local discomfort, and avoid infection risks that the direct IV line gives. Diana

I "scoop" too...... I find the veins that you cannot see but only feel are the best ones.. they lie still and are usually large enough .. stretching the skin towards you a bit helps too HTH a little
