  1. I am in a similar situation and wondering the same thing!
  2. I found out this morning that I passed. I hope you all got positive results too! The pearson vue trick did work for me!
  3. I took mine on Monday the 14th too. No results on the CA Bon today :-( Good luck!
  4. Congrats that your resume is being reviewed for Mercy. Do you know when that new grad program starts? My resume is also being reviewed but I don't graduate until August...so that new grad start date might be an issue. The interview for Encinitas was straightforward. Tell me about yourself, what's a recent accomplishment, how do you handle stress, what if you knew something unethical about a co-worker, how do you define good patient care. There weren't any "skills" type questions or scenarios r/t patient care. Good luck with the Mercy interview! Hope this helps.
  5. Did you get the job? I also interviewed for the new grad program but was not offered a position. I'm thankful that I got an interview! There were over 600 applicants, 35 interviewed for 15 positions. Any tips for the next interview would be helpful! Thanks.
  6. The same thing happened to my friend and it took her exactly one month to get her results (the first time she took her exam). I hate to tell you, but by the time they process your transcripts, you're looking at least another week or two before you know your results.
  7. Nothing here either. Suzanne says ten days. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  8. Do you know anyone that took it on the 29th and got their results back? I still don't understand how some people can get them back in 2-3 days when the "average" is 10 days. Umm.
  9. Assuming your file is complete, why does it take as little as 2-3 days for some people and up to 10 days for others to see it online?
  10. My friend took it on the 29th too and she's still waiting. It was her second time taking it and it turned off at 75. I hope you both hear soon!
  11. No, you don't have to carry all of your books around. In clinical, each member of your group can bring one book and share, that way not everyone is bringing a bag full of books. The other times that you'll be on campus, you'll have to bring one or two books. It's not that bad. Some students have the backpacks on rollers...
  12. Congrats! I'm in the program now and didn't buy the book package. I bought most of my books online which was cheaper. I'm doing fine in my classes but there are some times when I wish that I had them! First, you'll have open book quizzes for some of the classes. When doing the quiz, it would be nice to use the "find" feature to look for the answer! Also, some clinical groups (8 people) will break up the workload and make notes for each other. This is really helpful. If you have the e-books, it's easy to cut and paste the important material to share. If not, you type your notes and reference the page number in the book. It's not the end of the world...those are the only two times when I wish I had the e-books. Also, when you buy the e-books you'll get 2 downloads. You can use one for your laptop and one for a home computer....or, you can use one download and share/sell the other. I hope this helps!
  13. Check the OU e-mail. Peggy sent an email saying that we don't need to go in tomorrow for the ATI testing.
  14. Did anyone get an email from Kennessa about requiring a course completion letter? I don't have any outstanding courses so I'm not sure what' it's about. Did everyone receive this email?
  15. I can't get into Angel...I thought we'd have access by today. I think it's the same username and password but I can't remember.
  16. Thanks! I was able to get the Ackley book from the library. You can take nursing textbooks out from local hospital libraries. I know there are a lot of different nursing care plan books. You can probably buy it used too. I think the drug guide may be on line too...on StatRef or the OVID system.
  17. Which one is the "new" one? Thanks!
  18. Her email didn't make a lot of sense to me...the two drug guides are still different and the fundamentals book is different. I'm hoping she sends another mass email out on Tuesday to clarify!!
  19. this is what phyllis said about the booklist. "oh, sorry, i misunderstood your email. order all the books on the list i sent you (plus the nursing drug guide). it looks like there is only one additional book on the website list and i have a message out to kathy cooper about that book."
  20. Thanks for your reply. I thought I may have been reading the two lists incorrectly. Urgh.
  21. Am I going crazy or are the two lists different? If you look at the list online, it's different than the list she attached to her email.
  22. I'm sure they'll let you exchange them. They have a lot of different styles too. They're on 16th Street, I think it's 613 16th Street. You can find the information online.
  23. I went to the Ace Uniforms downtown and they had our patches. They have a tailor shop in the store and sewed the patch on my lab coate while I was waiting...I'm waiting for the new book list too!!
  24. Also, Kennessa said we're supposed to have a patch on our lab coat. I'm not sure why they didn't do it for us...
  25. Looks like the book list they provided isn't correct. Dear Students: There is some confusion regarding the books you will require for the summer and fall. Please refer to the list posted to the OUHSC website for the most up to date list. If there are ANY discrepancies between what is posted on the website and what you have on a previous booklist, order what is posted on the website. Here is a link to the website for your convenience. http://nursing.ouhsc.edu/Current_Students/textbooks.html
