    help, I have burnout bad!!

Your facility obviously has very poor working conditions and purposely understaffs, but that more and more, that is standard in nursing. With the situations I have seen in some hospitals/nursing...

Becoming a nurse for the money...

All nurses know that sometimes it is a real struggle to get pts what they need. Sometimes you have to go around docs, or use manipulation to get docs to give you what you need for your pt. You have to...

Becoming a nurse for the money...

Everyone should be well compensated for what they do- nurses are no exception. There's no disagreement about that. And yes- we do critisize lawyers (quite a lot actually) as well as docs and others...

What do you think of this suggestion?

It's not a stereotype- nursing is a mostly female profession and males are the exception. It's a fact, and why does it matter? Construction workers are mostly male and vastly out-number female...

This is what happens when politics wins over nurses

This is pure conjecture. VA nurses are paid very well- and they are unionized. You should be so lucky as to be a nurse for the US

    Please define "bedside" Nursing.

*guest*, Your attitude is a breath of fresh air. Some pre-nurses are very judgemental about nurses when they have no clue about real nursing. Bedside nursing is very, very difficult. It's not the pts...

I come in early and work off of the clock, too. There is no way to be ready when the pts come in if I don't. At least I am working for a non-profit, so some horrible corporation is not getting rich...

    Bright personality required??

I am not perky, or smiley. I am introverted, and it takes me a while to warm up to people. Nursing has forced me to be somewhat more outgoing. You don't have to be an extrovert to be a good

Student nurse gives out number to patient !

I agree. I think this student has boundary issues. At the bery least, she needs more instruction on what is and is not appropriate. I think this should be brought to her

Reccomend a gender neutral title to replace "Nurse"!

The term nurse is gender neutral title- we don't call female nurses nursettes, or nurse-woman. Nurse and doctor are both gender neutral titles- just like teacher, professor, plumber, and so on....
