I have been chased, had a gun pulled on me, had my bag stolen twice, had my car broken into twice......all on visits. Considering that spans a 15 year home health career, that is pretty good....
Excellent point! There are two local hospices here that they refer patients families who need bereavement help to 1. another hospice LOL or 2. a local support groups LOL. I know the regs don't say...
I do agree many of the for profits are market savvy and have money they might use from profits to hire sales staff. I still think it is a very sad thing that if I go to a nursing home the staff are...
The nursing home statement you made I have also seen before. There is a part of me that feels that is double dipping of the Medicare dollars but that is another thread and I have not put my armour on...
Glad you got hired! Having volunteered for a non profit for over 10 years/several cities/now changing to one closer to home I loved non profit. I helped with a for profit start up and there is a world...
Maybe you could surf different papers in the county to see who is hiring for that. I am employed by a Maryland company but live in Ohio so maybe scouring national papers would be a good idea.

I do think that hospital nursing teaches you so many skills that nursing school does not. You also develop the "eye" to walk in a room and many times know what is going on without even thinking about...
Oh gosh I am sorry you lost your job so fast. I know it is contractual related. I have been laid off 6 times so it is nothing new to me at all. I have a learned philosophy. WE are all replaceable and...
I absolutely love my job in disease management. The caseload can be either swamping or dead depending on if you can reach your clients. Caseload expectation is 100 clients to manage/very doable but...
AmiRah nice to meet you as well. Pretty name. I don't know of a disease management list of companies per say. I just lucked out and responded to an ad.
I was doing fine until I read about the breast part no it is not normal at all. That happened to me with a PT one time and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it gives us all a bad name and reputation...........

Yes I also agree for some reason, and I think it is sheer caseload and not enough staff, the Protective Services are slow for adults. I find it moves quicker for kids but for adults/akin to molasses....
We did not have that in our class. Maybe because it was to large and at the same time as the other majors. Our nursing class had a tad over 250 students. Buying pins was opptional. Congrats though....

You are correct. Should as in being fair to all staff related to gas is most often not paid to employees. I used to take the difference in compensation and the federal rate off my taxes.

Your employer failed YOU not the other way around. If someone comes to home health they need to train staff about the regulations which are many. As for coding, they also should not have asked you if...

Having been through what your experiecing 4 times now/been laid off 6 times due to mergers/buy outs etc/ I feel your pain. I have done what your doing before. High mileage/salary/etc. Might want to...

I love doing OBQI. Been downsized several times in that role thought from people spending to much on maintaining JCAHO LOL. I don't blame you for dropping it.
