For the most part our MDs and nurses get along well, but there is always that one (i know you know what i'm talking about haha) nurse who is just a bit out of control and harsh with how she/he (a she where i work) talks to the docs as well as the res...
In our hospital, we allow only decaf. but, sometimes depending on the circumstance and what condition the pt is in, we will give 1/2 decaf and 1/2 reg if the docs okay it. Plus.. you know as soon as they get out, they're going straight to the coffee...
one of my friends in nursing school took it until she ran out of time before answering all of the questions, and she still did pass. Hang in there, I know it's soooo hard to wait.
We normally do not allow it on our floor, but if they do, they have to have an MD order stating that it's okay. Otherwise we warn them of the risks and document the teaching and if they leave anyway.

I feel the same. I've been doing it for three years, and I still learn every day. Some of the things I learn are so simple I wonder why I didn't think of them before. But, what I realize after talking to all of my nurse friends, is that we all fee...
In my experience, the counts in the pixis is wrong a lot, not just with narcs, but all meds, and especially with the confusion of things such as: taking out one when you meant to take two, then trying to go back and get the second one without chargin...

I feel lucky after reading, I work on a cardiology floor and our ratio is 3-4:1 on day shift, 4:1 on eve shift, and 5:1 on nights. During the day, however, the norm is 3:1.
