  8. Question about sub-q heparin

I couldn't find anything online about this, just that the syringes are generally predrawn syringes for SQ injection. I will look further at work tonight. Just make sure that you are not using the heparin for catheter lock flushes, these have to be...
  9. Question about sub-q heparin

HMMMMM...Our heparin for SQ injection is in prefilled syringes, therefore all we need to do is attach the needle and give the injection. But I will try to find this information for you...

  16. EWWWW, something doesn't seem right to me here!!

Our peds crash cart has sterile disposable blades. And I agree with you about if someone is dying, and wiping a port, but just think if they survive, It's just going to make their recovery that much more dificult. we don't think about that at the ti...
  17. EWWWW, something doesn't seem right to me here!!

Oh see, that's interesting, because central sterile told me yesterday that if I did not like the idea of just using soap and water, I COULD drop them into the "green stuff" HMMMM... Thank you, by the way I will be looking for the solution from you.
  18. EWWWW, something doesn't seem right to me here!!

What is the solution that you use to clean your supplies? I know they are not packaged sterile, however, I think that they need to be cleaned much better that soap and water. Something else to kill the germs that the scrubbing doesn't do and in our...
  19. EWWWW, something doesn't seem right to me here!!

I still disagree. As I said, then it would be the same as using the same yankauer for each patient just wash with soap and water between uses. This day and age, just doesn't seem like safe practice to me.
