We call it, "Court-Compelled Medication" or just "Compelled" in Texas.

VENT: Moldy roommate
I would have just thrown it out...it seems crazy to have a huge fight about bread and then to complain to an outside source about it. If it was moldy and she hadn't noticed, she probably wasn't too attatched to it, anyway. It's sooo difficult living with someone else. You do have my sympathy.

All White Uniform Dress Code?!!
- RN program in community college really worth it?
I heard the lpn programs move along very quickly, as well.- How does liability work in nursing?
...just a student, but from what I've been taught #2 and #3 would be situations where a nurse could be considered at fault. I don't know about 1, but I'm guessing if it's within your scope of practice you should know something about it.- inapproprate RN on staff
I agree with SirI. I would just walk up to her and ask her if she had any questions about me.- PRN nurses-need your advice!
I agree! It seems like you'd be giving up more than you'd be gaining.- question about the A&P Final
Review everything and write down what you're weak in.- Why choose LPN?
One of my friends, who never makes less than an A in anything, HATES school. She went through an LVN program because she couldn't stand the thought of an extra year or two of school.- Sheez! She's back and venting AGAIN!!
You may have been frustrated, but what good did yelling about it in front of the unit clerk do? It sounds more like "flying off the handle" than brutal honesty, to me. (just being honest!)- touched inappropriately by patient
That guy sounds really creepy. I'm sorry this happened to you.- Future Nursing Student...only interested in peds...realistic?
It's possible. I have heard that peds positions are more difficult to get, though. They say most children are generally healthy (less demand) and most pediatric nurses stay put (more supply).- I'm sorry but I'm EXTREMELY irritated by this!
I didn't see anything so terrible. We all have ideas of what our "ideal" interactions would be like.- where should I start?
I thought about that too, but... The LVN program had a waiting list that was longer than it took to complete my RN pre requisites! I also thought it would be very difficult to work at a new job, in a new field AND attend nursing school. I can't even manage to work more than 2-4 days a month at the job I currently have and I know that job inside and out! LVNs also have very limited opportunities in some areas. You're more likely to find a job in long term care than in an NICU as an LVN. Soooo, if NICU is what you're hoping for, it might just be better to go all the way. If you can find a good ADN program, becoming an RN won't take too much longer than becoming an LVN. You can go back to school and work on your BSN or MSN after you settle in to your new RN role.- Cadbury pulling it's awful commercial!
:lol2::lol2::balloons:Your description made me laugh! (and it's right on!)- where should I start?
If you want to work in the NICU, start working towards RN. LVNs don't work in the NICU from what I understand.- Preceptor Problem
I would be shocked and upset, too. I don't know what you should do, but you have my sympathy.- One More Texas Nurse
Congratulations!!!! This sounds like an acceptance speech! teehee- A classmate is going to QUIT! Please help...
Other than offering support and encouragement, I don't see what you can do. If she's 40ish, she's been around the block and knows about making her own bed and lying in it. Don't let her distract you too much.- RN pay in Texas
New grads without shift differential start at about $18 or so. Most of the experienced RNs I know make a little over or under $30. It's very cheap to live in San Antonio.- calculating medications
We're being taught not to accept orders for "2cc" or "1 tablet"...it needs to say how much of the actual DRUG the patient is to receive. I would be confused, too.- Any Market for Handmade Scrubs?
I bought a hand-made scrub top off ebay for about $28-30. There were two coordinating fabrics and I got to chose which pattern I wanted for the main part, the sleeves and the pockets. I wasn't sure about buying something home-made, but I ended up being very impressed and got lots of compliments on my unique scrub top. Since I was limited to wearing cat/dog prints, it was hard to find something that everyone else didn't already have.- Hesi?
A lot of schools will not allow you to graduate without passing it.- Microbiology :(
"if you guys think this class is hard, wait until you get in the nursing program." Funny...that's exactly what I thought when I started reading your post! I loved micro, but a lot of people didn't. It may be that you just don't have a strong interest in it, so it doesn't "stick" as well. Most of us have had "that" class. For me, it was chemistry. I don't think the fact that you aren't doing great in one class means you won't do well in nursing school.- Guess What?i Passed Nclex Rn!!!!
