  1. Why is getting my IL RN license so hard?

I don't understand what is Failed or Rejected....? But as far as fingerprints go, I had to do mine, and I am sure that has not changed. Get your background check done and do your fingerprints. It's not hard. Best of luck to you!
  2. What should I do in this situation? (Very afraid)

In my opinion, you are being "groomed to be let go". There needs to be reasons behind what they are saying and doing. If there are no specifics, what can you do? And even though patients try to give you their numbers and are sweet and kind, never tak...
  3. Just Wondering

If a patient is on a venti mask at 50%, that's 15L oxygen, right? So, I am curious, if this venti mask is removed, it is possible for a patient to go into distress enough that it could possibly aid in their passing. Am I thinking correctly? or not?
  4. Just Wondering

Haha! I knew that... just didn’t think of the way it would happen. Thank you for making this old brain work a few more cells.... ?
  5. Just Wondering

Would the rapid increase of C02 cause a death?
  6. I found so many preceptorstates for my FNP

I am re-entering school after having an emergency leave a couple of years ago. I just glanced at this and it bears more digging into, but hey... I'll gladly pay $55 if it will help me find a preceptor for my last semester! Thanks for the info!
  7. Lasix for EOL secretions?

I have never heard of Lasix being given for excess secretions. Our go to is Levsin or Robinul. Hmmm.....
  8. Is Hospice nursing for me?

I have worked out in the field in hospice and am now inpatient. The upside? I love going to peoples homes and educating them and answering questions and helping them get what they need to care for their loved one. Many people are quite appreciative o...
  9. Termed...After the Fact?

Question: Can an employer request a resignation from an employee (in lieu of being fired) and then two days later, send an email stating they've "changed their mind" and are now marking it as a termination? I certainly would not think so, and I d...
  10. I am so over all the paper writing, article reading, medatrax charting, and all of it! There is not enough hours in one day to do all required of us, yet somehow, we have all found a way to continue plodding along... day after day, hour after hour, m...
  11. Eh.... it happens to all of us. Don't let it get to you. You know now, and I can guarantee that you won't make the same mistake again! Kudos to your instructor for using a teachable moment wisely. Best of luck to you! You will be an awesome nurse!
  12. New Nurse anxiety on the job

Give yourself time to settle into a routine! It will all become so much easier as time goes on... Best of luck to you! :)
  13. I do not believe you will lose your license over this, but in the future, document, document, document!!!!! Note that "So and So" RN was informed and at what time, note that you requested of supervisor "Whatshername" information and what to do and th...
  14. Bullying online is NOT harmless

Thank you for your insight. I also have seen the harsh remarks, but because I have not been here in awhile, I chose to not say anything. However, I do agree with some of the others about you saying "nasty nurses"..... some of us, myself included, ha...
  15. The Dreaded Social Media

I'm afraid I must agree with the others. Just don't. Don't take that chance.
  16. Termed...After the Fact?

Yes. I did. It has now cost me a job. Two lawyers from my area won't discuss it with me. I just can't believe it can be changed from a resignation to a termination after the fact. Thank you for your vote of confidence though! I appreciate it! [emoji...
  17. Termed...After the Fact?

^^^ This^^^ ???? I will call and speak to someone tomorrow. And I know of the place referred to that will call and see if a bad reference is being given.
  18. Termed...After the Fact?

Thank you. Due to this very thing, a recent job offer was rescinded the day the "email" was received.
  19. Termed...After the Fact?

There were no reprimands, no attendance issues, and unfortunately, no performance evaluations. Time of employment was less than 6 months. But now, there is a mark on the record that is hindering finding another job.
  20. Termed...After the Fact?

    Yes, yes and yes.
  21. Would you tell a co worker when you know that the boss is getting ready to "demote" them and on what date? My boss has hired another nurse to come in and take the place of a friend of mine, but has not told my friend because she wants her to continu...
  22. Thank you! I may need this information! [emoji6]
  23. She was told I sent a mass text to the nurses and CNAs asking them to come work for me..... Work FOR me? Wouldn't it help if I were employed somewhere? I did, however, send out a text to the nurses wishing them all well and telling them I appreciate...
  24. Nope. And that's what I am thinking.
  25. She just sent an email stating that she is now considering me "fired" instead of being able to "resign". States it was due to unprofessional conduct after I left. And I am sure that is what she told HR at the hospital where I applied.... Now what ca...
