@Mia Tanksley Yes, I was part of Chatt Tech's LPN Fall 2022-2023 cohort. It was a very demanding program, especially those first few months on campus daily. The LPN bridge program at Dalton has been a whole different vibe. We had on campus learning just once a week and they divided up between two campuses (depending on which one you were closer to). Most work full time and do school, it is design for the working nurse, since the majority have their LPN already (I think we had 3-4 paramedics). The second and third semester is purely online learning - and then the in person clinical hours. You do 120 hours clinical each term, the last two semesters of the program. I have found it to be extremely doable and a breeze because of how intense CTC was. @NPTT No worries! ? Happy to help. The Clincial director is very very sweet and wants everyone to succeed and is willing to work the best she can to accommodate individual student needs. I actually live on the Acworth/Dallas border. It takes me just under 60 minutes to drive to the Dalton campus.....She was able to reach out to the hospitals down in my area for preceptors and get my hours. Hospitals like Wellstar Paulding, Wellstar South Cobb (not Kennestone, they have a contract with KSU), Northside Cherokee, etc. Though you are more than welcome to go to the hospitals up near and around Dalton. There are many great options.

@Mia Tanksley - I did the A&PII exemption exam. They enroll you into an online course (mine was by Dr. Andy Meyer) that you will access via Georgia View (once you have been accepted as a student). You will read through the modules/chapters, do the practice tests, and then schedule a day to take the exam. The exam had a bonus short answer/essay part at the end that could really boost your score, so be ready to explain coherently something such as the chain of events of dehydration on the body or similar scenario. You submit and then the professor grades it (you don't see it instantly). Just be sure to review over items you may have long since forgotten. I remember there being the stages of embryonic development on there and I froze. haha Best wishes! I am graduating from the LPN/Paramedic-ASN program in December.

@NPTT They have the Dalton campus location and their new "mountain" campus which is in Ellijay. With that extra campus option they were able to take more students - I believe it was 28-30 spots? We had a few drop out because of job offer or other reasons. But yes, it was certainly competitive, hopefully you get in for the Summer! If not, apply for the Fall 2024 for sure ?

@NPTT, The application for the Spring 2024 was last year - school started the beginning of January. ? The application for Spring 2024 ended October 15, 2023 and I received my acceptance letter on November 2nd. After you accept your program spot you will get several items to complete, including signing up to take a pharmacology exempt test out (or just take the entire course, which several classmates are). You have to make an 80 or higher on the exam to not have to take the course. Those who graduated from Dalton's LPN program had already taken that class and were exempt. There will be all your vaccinations to present (or titers), flu shot, TB test, visual and hearing test, etc.— once class starts you will get information to take a background and drug screening test through PSI, and purchase your scrub uniform from their designated store, and purchase your course books. It was about $600-700 for the books for the first semester (one of the LPN transition book and the other is their ATI package). The 10wk Summer semester we will have 120hours of clinical assignments at our designated hospital and a ton of ATI course work, exams, homework, etc. ? Then into Fall! I hope this helps some ?? Best of luck!

How do I prepare to take an Anatomy and Physiology Challenge exam?
Hi fellow Nursing students! Has anyone taken an "exam for credit" type test before? How do I prepare to take an Anatomy and Physiology Challenge exam? I am transferring from one local college (Chattahoochee Technical College, just finished their LPN program) to another for RN, and surprisingly the new college does not take any BIO courses from a Technical school. I have the option to either test out (1 try) or retake the courses at their school. This is for A&P1, 2 and Microbiology! Whew...
