  1. Awww I'm so sorry that's not the news you wanted to get. Although, that means there is still hope ? I know about 2-3 people that got accepted but decided to go elsewhere, hopefully that would mean they will open up spots and one could be for you! Don't beat yourself up too much on bombing the interview, it's not an accurate representation of how capable you are nor is it a determining factor of how far you can go. have you applied to other schools?
  2. Hello! so sorry for the late response. Ask for having kids and school... well it's personal as you know your motivation and what support system you have to help out. I do have a 1.5yr old and I'm nervous for what it entails. But this is the first time I'm a mom and I'm no expert in parenting. I will say they do have the option for part time if need be. My process took about 1.5-2 months to find out I got in. did you end up hearing back?
  3. Congratulations! Yes I was exactly where you were a couple months ago. It took a good while to hear back about 2-3 1/2 weeks after the interview. I believe it's mostly based on when you apply and how busy they are. I've heard that an interview is a great sign in the right direction so try and hold on to that positive. You are starting in Spring with me and the same program. We should definitely keep in touch. Let me know when you get your decision email. Best of luck but I'm sure you've got it. As per the interview, the questions weren't too bad I just prefer a face to face interaction a bit better but once you answered all questions and you were able to articulate yourself decently I think you are good!
  4. They do offer part time study but in that it will take longer to complete. So depending on your goals you can see what works. I start Spring 2025. And yes there is an interview process it's about 5 questions and pre-recorded.
  5. I am not sure of the ins and outs of your circumstances but I will say that even getting through nursing school shows your determination and resilience. You can and will do this, of course it will not be easy but once you get there and you look back on your journey it's going to be such an exhilarating experience. I am no stranger to running on my own sense or need to succeed. As a matter of fact it was like is up until I married a couple years ago learned what support looked like. Then I became a mom which made everything 1000x more difficult but I truly believe through these difficulties it gave me the understanding that I can do anything. Not saying that it will be easy but this is preparing you for this next step. I placed my email in another response earlier, please keep in contact.
  6. I second this completely! If yall look back I provided my email please reach out and stay in touch. I would have provided my phone number but apparently there are rules to that on here. So please both of you reach out. I've already been in contact with one other through exchanging numbers through email. I truly believe that no one else will truly understand your journey and it is great to have a group of people with the same drive and ambition to uplift each other.
  7. That's so awesome! I'm so happy to hear that you have a great support. I am in similar shoes and plan on just keeping a PRN and mostly focusing on this next step. I did ask if it was possible to spend up or take an extra class. I was told you needed to get a special permission and it was highly not recommended. I didn't push further as I'm a new mom and still learning my limits.
  8. Wow this is super informative! Thank you so much. Do you mind me asking what state you are located in? I saw that you are also homeschooling your children, that is awesome. I considered doing that with my daughter. By the time I'm finished with the DNP she will be about 4yrs old so hopefully I figure out how to do that and balance work.
  9. Oh gosh I completely get you 100%. I read every forum I could and did so much research and even made myself sick with worry. I got my acceptance and completed drug test and background last week. From what I've seen with this University and program if you get an interview it seems to be more procedural and you can count on the acceptance. alike you my biggest worry is now clinical placements. I work at a great, well known hospital but my department doesn't really count or help with the FNP/pmhnp program. How did you go about starting that conversation for getting clinical placements? I will be starting Spring 2025
  10. Which semester did you applied to? Also, how long after your interview did you receive a decision?
  11. It's is a Gmail so put minasmom555 then followed by the gmail.com. I wrote it that way seeing that there are rules for posting information here.
  12. That was my only concern really the placements. But I'll try to take a look at the resources they sent and go from there. If you work for a hospital I recommend starting that conversation with coordinators. I started the Duke application but the cost is holding me back (110k+ for one specialty masters). May I know the other two schools you will apply to? What I really like about UA is that you are awarded masters on the way to the DNP (many schools don't offer that). That was important to me to be able to walk away with something midway. I haven not heard it being difficult to transfer if need be. I wonder if there's an alternative way to communicate? I don't see direct message capabilities on here.
  13. Hello! That's awesome did she have good reviews about the schooling? I have received no feedback or any additional notifications. Have you? I started my application for Duke but it's a masters and I wanted a dual DNP. They have an excellent program, but I'm more inclined to UA.
  14. Nice! Congratulations for completing the interview. Now we both wait on the decision. My question (that I remember) were: What strategies do you have for time management? what is my favorite animal and why? written - if you did not know how to complete research, how would you go about it?
  15. I was able to get a list of contacts in NC. Thank you for that suggestion. Question, how and when do you think you'd reach out to try and setup clinicals? also, have you done your interview?
