I'd say it probably has something to do with the fact that the profession shares its name with the act of putting an infant to breast. It seems like they could have found something better to call us.

What kind of clinical (community? management?) and how is it arranged? Are you on your own or with a preceptor? I have never understood the concept of requiring clinical for people who are already RNs. It seems redundant to me.

Only downside of agency I have experienced is (at least on some units) you get the patients that no one on staff wants (like the 3-C patients: Crazy, Combative, and C-diff +) YUCK!! on the other hand, at least you get more money to take them~~
