  1. I am currently a Q2 student and I would say drexel is the best nursing program in the area. this is a biased answer LOL but its true. out of all of the program, drexel ace students are the most sought out when it comes to being a new grad. so you are guarantee a job even before you graduate. It's just VERY intense, so be ready to eat, breathe, sleeping nursing for the next year. Hi, so im not in your cohort to start. but for your Q2, I will be joining you guys. I wasn't successful in pharm this quarter so I do have to repeat it. im zaire btw
  2. So since you are an ace student your advisor registers you for all of your classes each quarter. with my cohort they split us up in half and by last name. You can not pick your own classes, you have to be really flexible in this program.
  3. Yes there are but since ACE students only have a week between quarter besides Winter break its not recommended and I don't think its even possible. The only time you can study abroad is in the month of december. They will send opportunities via email
  4. So I live off campus, I was blessed to fine a place where someone was renting one of their rooms in their townhouse. I have my own room and bathroom and share the common space with one other person. I also needed something fully furnished and it was the cheapest I could find. I would just do your research and way your options. I big thing for me was price since I don't come from a family that support me financially. I do everything on my own. So it all depends on what you can afford. I hope that helps
  5. No problem, & I noticed I typo LOL I didn't mean to say drexel didn't offer alot, I meant to say they DO offer alot. Thanks, I have one more final to take on Friday. When they tell you the program flies by, it really does! I can’t believe I’m basically done with my first quarter already. & the fact you’ll be starting and I’ll be finishing is mind blowing!
  6. No problem girl, I got time now! LOL Your first quarter there is 1 clinical which is for fundamentals of nursing. It is every other week. On your week you don’t have clinical, you have lab. It is 5 total classes the other 4 are health assessments with lab, pathophysiology, genetics which is online, and contemporary health care. I have only completed 1 quarter, so I can only speak on my experience thus far. But we did not do care plans this quarter, it’s something that I believe we get into in the 2nd quarter. & I believe they just throw us into it, so if you wanna be ahead of the curve start getting familiar with those. Since genetics is online we had a few discussion boards and other projects. But each question only had to be about two paragraphs. It was definitely test based in 1 quarter and I believe thats how it is although the program. I do believe the support and resources are there. Drexel definitely doesnt have alot to offer. I had trouble with patho and health assessments, so I fid purchase outside resources that helped. But it may be different for you. Some people in my cohort didn't have trouble with any classes while other like myself had trouble in a few. Here is a breakdown of the rest of the quarters Q2 - 3 clinicals: med surg 1(adult & illness 1), mental health, gerontology. Pharm 1 Q3 - 3 clinicals: med surg 2(adult & illness 2), maternity, pediatrics. Pharm 2 Q4 - 2 clinicals: critical care(adult & illness 3), population health. Leadership, research basis, and comprehensive nursing. One of those are NCLEX prep, & mostly busy work LOL
  7. So far I really like the program. It's really what you make it in my opinion. & what do you wanna know? LOL For the nurse corp I am actually a recipient for this year’s scholarship cycle, so if you want guidance in the application cycle I gottchu. But to answer your question, the cycle opens around march or April of every year. Just keep an eye out on the website and facebook page and they will post the exact date the cycle will open and the deadline.
  8. Hi everyone! Current ACE fall 2022 student, close to finishing up my 1st quarter this week. If anyone has any questions and want to know more information about the program of studies. I will spill at the tea! LOL I know the website doesn’t say much about what classes you will take. Congratulations to those who were already accepted and good luck to those who are still waiting!
  9. Yes I plan on staying. I want to go into NICU, but I don't think that's possible since there are no hospitals in the area. So, I haven't looked beyond that. I know some states have school districts on the list for critical shortage and I'm hoping something opens up near by. I wouldn't mind being a school nurse. & I know the median wage. in Delaware is in the 30s.
  10. Yes I am a recipient for FY 2022-2023 and I was born and raised in Delaware and I am very familiar with all the hospitals their. I am currently in Philly for school. So I have been looking heavy in the NJ/Philly/Delaware area for the last six month. I still have a year before I actually have to gets serious about an actual location but I was curious on what was out their currently. & to answer your last question from my research pretty much everywhere that has nurses on payroll will hire new grads. It's more about selling yourself during the interview, and making yourself marketable like fluffing up your resume and experience. All of the new grad nurse I spoke with personal did not have any issues getting a job. Most of them secured a job before even graduating and taking the NCLEX.
  11. wow I did not expect you to respond so fast. I really really appreciate! & they are actually doing an update today so fingers crossed. I know every year is different but reading that has definitely put me at ease. and thank you!
  12. there are currently no hospitals in NJ and Philly. but Delaware has a few on the list if working at a hospital is non negotiable for you. There Bayhealth and Christina care
  13. Hey, I am a recipient for 2022-2023. I wanted to know did most people receive their stipend end of OCT? & did some really have to wait until Nov 15?
  14. I got a counter signature as well, and I received an email this morning. Congratulations to everyone for made it!
  15. that was the amount after taxes
  16. from last years group it was like 2000 and something.

  18. Same for me, I don't have any new updates
  19. Heyy, there is one that was created last year. It's called HRSA nurse corp scholarship 2022-2023. there has been much activity, there was always a facebook group that was created a while back the link is in that one as well. I can tag you if you want
  20. lmao, mine is 50k for the whole program and its only 11 months long
  21. yeah from the previous years, applicants can find out as a soon as July and as late as sept if they were selected
  22. My director of my program left it blank, as a newly admitted student we aren't taking any classes at the university yet. I honestly didn't think anything of it tbh. you can always call the customer service line about that. they are pretty good at clarifying things.
