@VanessaRae, so sorry that I am almost a year late, I really hope you came to a conclusion on your decision. This program is extremely doable, if you want it to be. Like I've stated before, I had a life during the program and flew out every/other week and maintained well above a 3.5 GPA. I've graduated and passed NCLEX first try and I must say, I'm making 6 figures at the moment in a speciality field. I'm also receiving extra due to the MSN (education incentive). Best decision I made was to go to LA Roche .. I've also gained lifetime friends.

@MSingh786 hi, so, you must maintain a 3.0 average throughout the whole program. As for the clinical you can get lucky, but they assign the groups, the sites. Everything.

Hey @Luke Huff, if (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is your advisor, he told me to do the same in regards to the Pharm book .. it’s a waste of money though LOL I’ve never used it. HOWEVER, there’s flash cards that are amazing ! You can find them on Amazon. They’re literally amazing. Also, mnemonics helped a lot, I always have some dumb ways of remembering things so a lot of my classmates come to me for help to remember LOL because it’s so dumb. But Youtube whatever you’re learning & they help. & for me, second semester is a little more easy as you only have one in person class & everything else is online. But the online work is SOOO MUCH so it becomes overwhelming & then doing the paperwork for clinicals too. But I am enjoying the second semester. Definitely buddy up with you cohort so that you’re not studying alone. It works so much better with a group or even another person. Our professors want us to learn & succeed, so if you’re ever having any difficulties, definitely reach out to them. If you feel overwhelmed, reach out. They’re here to help honestly. & the fundamentals professor, she’s amazing LOL I love her. She’s so bubbly ! Pharm professor, in my opinion, was the best professor for the subject. Even though she gets sidetracked quite often. All in all, if this is what you want to do… You’ve got it!

Hi @Sophia, I am in the second semester for the ELMSN program. First semester, yes. Every class is in person except for one which is a writing infective course. The program is definitely challenging, but it’s also very manageable.. I’ve been passing all classes & I’ve also been flying home every other week as well as going out sometimes at night. It’s very much about time management. The second semester is a little easier than the 1st (in my opinion) but it’s overwhelming with the amount of work. As I said, the program is extremely challenging especially if you’re completely new to the field since they use medical terminology , but there’s no class on Med terms. @Luke, I’m happy to hear that you’re in ! Hopefully we could meet in person!!

@RobertG, majority of the professors are really good, some are better as clinical instructors than they are at teaching.

Not sure if anyone is still paying attention to this forum but... I am interested in applying to the program so I am awaiting a call from the admissions office as I cannot find where on the website to begin applying. How is the program going for you all so far? I saw that someone received a decision back in a week, was that the case for others? Does anyone know what their admission rate is and/or how many people are in your cohort? When I chatted with someone on their website, I told them my GPA and they said it was good, would anyone care to share their stats? Thanks in advance!

@danib22 congratulations & good luck !! UMass Boston is really my first choice. I live in NYC I’d probably commute back and forth whenever clinical starts because I have a young child. Though my mom said she’d babysit and I could just stay in a hotel for clinical instead of doing the commute.
