  1. I am a nursing student about to graduate in May 2020. My husband and I have been married nearly 2.5 years and are thinking about having kids soon. I've always wanted to stay home at least some while the kids are young, but I know that most nursing residency programs right now are about a year-long commitment. I would have no problems waiting to start working at all until the kids are older, but a lot of residency programs require the grad to have passed the NCLEX in the past 6 months. Would it be possible for me to start working/orienting as a "new grad" (i.e. no experience) if I've had my RN for 5-7 years already? I would love to hear from any nurse managers/recruiters on how this affects job prospects.
