I’m surprised this is an issue. How difficult would it be for the facility to pull up the camera on that patient and see who the negligent staff is that hasn’t been turning them?

Not based on what I’ve seen coming back from nursing homes. Some are definitely better, but some are disgusting. We looked around a good while before we put my grandma in one.

Eh I’m for personal choice. Convince people to get vaccines and more transparency will help. The big problem is people don’t trust the corporations that create the vaccines, and I honestly don’t blame them. It is proven fact that American citizens ha...

It’s not an insult. It definitely takes skill- time management. That was one thing working LTAC gave me aswell. It’s just not the kind of work I enjoy. Nothing wrong with it. Just a lot of running like a chicken with your head cut off, and more resp...

It’s usually achievable where I work. I can’t say there’s never been a time I haven’t, but it’s pretty much the norm. Some of my patients are so needy I do 30 min rounding on them. Especially my quad vents that can’t call. I promise them I’ll round o...

2 hours is a stretch? We do hourly rounding at my hospital. And the chances that they died immediately after your last rounding and you didn’t notice anything off is slim. Between nurses and ancillaries I don’t see why it needs to be that long betwe...

My grandma worked at a credit union, but my family members are financially smart. She paid for her stay for 2 years, 9500 a month until she passed at the ripe age of 92. And still left myself and other descendants a handsome inheritance. Probably he...

I don’t know we regularly use the word decubitus here. The NH I my grandma was at was adequate, but we also checked on her almost daily. There are 3 I can think of right off that are god awful. Anytime a patient says they’re from there I wince a litt...

I don’t know how that is. Where I work each floor has accountability. If I get a patient from another floor with DU and there’s no documentation, I’m going to be documenting and it shows that it originated on them. We have several nursing homes here...
I enjoy organic chem as well, what I’m saying is you actually have to KNOW what you’re talking about. Much of nursing is very much opinion and not a “hard science”. The parts that were, are very basic in nature. The depth and quantity of material was...

What negligence.. sickening. We see terrible stuff from nursing homes. We send them out, no decubitus. They come back months later, stage 4. if you have family in a NH, you better he checking on them, because they most likely won’t be.

I’ve been in that situation. I had a junkie girlfriend when I was in the army. Wealthy, daughter of a multi millionaire, (actually a nursing student who luckily never made it), who I found out was addicted to both heroin and coke. Glad I found out so...
