  1. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Hey. I agree with you there. I'm all for the "let's bring back all our troops, and stop funding foreign nations with our tax dollars." Then, let's see if we can make Medicare for all of our citizens into a reality or not.
  2. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Allow me to use a weird example. Stores. The brick & mortar structures that sell goods such as T shirts, or food items. Do you know that they already marked up their prices, to cover their loss from theft? We are all paying for it. My personal op...
  3. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

And please do include, exactly how much "premiums" we, the taxpayers are paying into that "coffer for all." And what is the forecast increase? It WILL increase. Like I said. Do whatever you guys like to do. Just don't raise our income taxes. We alrea...
  4. In my post when I first started my views with this thread, I stated: there will always be prejudiced "individuals." That is just how the world is. However, to include everyone in a professional field of being prejudiced or biased when it comes for th...
  5. How long does it take to become a psych nurse?

You join a psych unit fresh after you pass your exam. And you become a "psych nurse." Kind of simple. But then, you need to last and undergo your real education at the psych floor. That's another story.
  6. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Again note this point. "How are you going to pay for it?" "How will you FORCE Doctors to accept the set-pay rate for diagnosis or treatment?" Taxing the rich? You better pass another law then. "Rich people cannot move out from the nation." You see wh...
  7. I'm not white. I am a person of "color." So when I see myself, and the results of other people of "color," especially when this politician dare accuses ME (and you included. all nurses and all doctors) of being prejudiced at our patients.. she crosse...
  8. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Oh. So now we are going to "force" Doctors to take Medicare now? That would indeed be a case that goes in front of the Supreme court. Somewhat like telling a person that he or she MUST sell a product, with a certain amount that we (government) establ...
  9. “what they’re telling us is they are privileging nonindigenous definitions of being indigenous.” Membership in a Native American tribe is “very precious to us,” Mr. Hoskin, the Cherokee Nation secretary of state, said in a phone interview. “It’s not ...
  10. Hardship: none of my business or a problem?

I am sorry that you are going through hardship, and words I know, do not help your situation at all. Only action does. Having said that. This is the bottom line that I see. You are trying to achieve something (parking overnight), that the private co...
  11. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

Yea. I saw the bold link of an opinion piece of the NY times, and in my mind are these weird points that just does not make sense. a) can't force Hospitals (MDs) to take Medicare b) if you spend more than what you make, it never works out. ever. in a...
  12. I hate fake call outs.

We all need to vent. ? That's why in Japan, there are those places where you get to just smash dinner plates.
  13. I hate fake call outs.

Your hospital sounds like they mean business, and is practicing the: "we are grown adults here. let's not leave room for toddler behavior."
  14. How would Medicare for all affect nursing?

I tend to think it as.. never mind should it be implemented or not. It's just that, there is no way this nation could afford to do it. Think of the population + tax revenue versus tax expenditure.
  15. May your words come true.

I hope the old proverbs come real. You know who you are. The mysterious, "I am sick so I need to call out in two consecutive days in a row" people. Mysteriously you guys just appear out of nowhere and can tell when you'll be better and how long you'l...
  16. May your words come true.

Thank you for your advice. Hope that you'll always be safe on the floors, and may you not be in too many situations where you're preparing a stat order bomber shot mix.
  17. Maybe their personal lifestyle had something to do with it? Instead of a politician who pushed her career by claiming something about her lineage, is now claiming that Nurses and Doctors are prejudiced against minorities?
  18. That would be true. I'll play the devil's advocate and say.. a pharmacist and a nurse with a huge case load however.. Too much stress can lead to staff members overlooking the most obvious situations.
  19. Does anyone here actually like nursing?

Oh. The "cna" did the vitals for other nurses. Just not for me. ?
  20. Ok interview - still got the job!

Remember though, to keep on applying and setting up interviews. The last thing you'd want is just play the "I got one interview so I'm all set" type of a thing. On my case though, the director basically told me after the interview that I'll be gettin...
  21. Ok interview - still got the job!

Congratulations on your new position offer. Don't think about it too much since you landed the position already. Let's put it this way..on my very first day on the floor, I actually gave one of my patients an assessment, like we did in nursing school...
  22. I hate fake call outs.

Take your rest when you can everyone. We really need it. Do not go partying (not saying you shouldn't) or go on raunchy adventures when you know you have a full shift coming up soon and the floor is heavy.
  23. I hate fake call outs.

Awesome. "Shoved on us" now translates to a "voluntary sign up." Bravo. I mean, can't argue with that.
  24. I hate fake call outs.

    That sounds very fair.
  25. Do first generation immigrants to this nation, also have these so called "potential biases" you guys claim exists? How about minorities?
