St. David's RN Residency Summer Cohort 2020

I think some of them may have been holding out on scheduling as a lot of managers meet interview prospects at the hiring event which is now cancelled. So maybe we will!

Congratulations. Which hospital if you don't mind me asking? I heard from a recruiter a couple of weeks ago, and he was forwarding my application to hiring managers that he works with, some ICU.. but I have not heard anything since then. I wonder if there is a slight delay in the process due to all the COVID-19 stuff going on?

    New Grad ICU Interview

Hi All, I am a BSN student graduating in May, and I am wondering how to best make myself stick out in an ICU interview. I was scheduled to do ICU as my capstone starting this week but due to the COVID-19 situation those rotations have now been cancelled. Unfortunately other than this capstone there was very little focus on ICU in my program, so I am having trouble thinking of ways to answer those situational questions in a way that shows that I am capable of working on that unit. I was fortunate enough to do a few rotations in the ICU in my Adult II course where I was able to ask a ton of questions, but it as almost more like a shadowing experience, as we were told that we were not allowed to be hands on with these patients. I know I am capable, I am just having a bit of a writers block figuring out ways to convey that. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Hey there! I applied to a few different units at South, Heart, North, and Round Rock. Do you know if they have started interviewing?

My acceptance asked me to respond on whether I accepted my spot by November 2nd I believe, I bet once they receive everyone's decisions they'll start placing the waitlisted in the spots of the people who said no! I hope you guys are one of them! :-)

I applied to Round Rock. I have a 3.19 Pre Req GPA and a 4.0 Nursing Science GPA. I can't remember my score break down, but my overall HESI score was a 95. I'm hoping I am considered competitive..I also have about 2 years experience in a medical office as a Patient Care Coordinator, CPR certified, volunteer work, and am a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I know those last things are only a minimal part of their decision but maybe it'll help. Good luck to everyone! :-D

    Baylor FastBacc 2019

The interview was really relaxed, but a couple of questions you might want to be ready for is: How do you handle conflict? (Have an example) Why do you want to be a nurse? What made you look at or choose to apply to our program? Other than those it was pretty easy conversation. Good luck!
